  1. Hi Simon,

Thanks for your comments. Hope you've been enjoying the streams.

Yes - the streams will definitely be of use to Solution users too.

It would be helpful to have a translation grid of which FLX commands work on Solution desk ( & maybe other models) and which don't, and how to convert instructions from FLX to Solution.

We currently don't have this, but this is something we could look to create. In terms of general features, we have the comparison sheet below...

Hope this helps, if you have any questions let us know.

If I alter the effect speed, it affects both movement and chase playback.

How are you altering the effect speed? Are you doing this by selecting the fixtures, tapping the "Effect" tab at the top of the touchscreen, and then using the encoder wheels? If so, you will need to tap Effect until you see the effect number displayed on the encoder wheel you wish to edit.

For more information on effects, see below...

Is it possible to alter the speed for each type individually?

The best way of speeding up or slowing down effects manually is to use Speed Override. Speed Override can be accessed by tapping Z/Shift, and is on the second encoder wheel. Speed Override will adjust the currently viewed playback, so choose the playback you wish to adjust by pressing and holding VIEW and tapping the playback's button, and then use the Speed Override wheel. Tapping the middle button of the Speed Override encoder will reset back to the playback speed. Speed Override can also be configured to be controlled by a fader. To do this hold SETUP and tap an empty playback's button, and choose Speed Override.

    Hope this helps,

If you can make a lesson videos about how to make timecode lightshow with MIDI and SMPTE, And maybe Connect with Art-net to PC and connect to 3d light design programmes. It can be perfect :)

i got 3 chauvet Qwash 360z and the fixture profile in advanced and basic mode dont seem to be right. the zoom on strobe and the dimmer seems to be focus.

I have just taken a look at the fixture profile for this in version 39 of the fixture library, and I can confirm both basic and advanced modes match the channel map listed in the fixture's manual...

    https://www.chauvetprofessional.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Q-Wash_360Z-LED_UM_Rev_01e_DC-MG_Signed_2011-05-18.pdf

To confirm the version of the fixture library you are currently using, on the console tap Z/Shift -> System Information.

Can you confirm the mode and DMX match on both the console and the fixture?

If you have any questions let me know.

When creating symmetrical effects, the "Fan V" function  works perfectly for Intensity and Tilt movement, but not on Pan movement.

If you select your movers, apply a circle effect, choose No Offset, and then fan the offset using "Fan V", you will see that the first pair of fixtures pan together, then the next pair, and so on working outwards. This is correct, however what you are after is for example the Stage Right fixtures to mirror the Stage Left fixtures. The easiest way to do that, is tap SETUP, select either the stage right or stage left fixtures, and then under Invert, Invert Both the pan and tilt for these fixtures.

Now if you come out of Setup, select the fixture and simply apply a circle effect, the fixtures will work in/out from the middle.

Changing the invert options will result in all existing programming being affected, so just be aware of this.

    Hope this helps,

I was wondering if there was a limit on just how many could be used?

No, there is no limit to the number of connected remotes/monitors.

    1 hour ago, drscoop said:

using Monitor on the iPads, if I changed from, say, the Cue window to the Fader window on one iPad, all iPads reflected the change and showed the same window.  However, using the Remore app, I could get screens showing a different, independent window on each, which is much more helpful, but less visually pleasing!  Is there a way of getting a similar, independent screen display using Monitor?

That’s odd - all Remotes and Monitors should be able to view independent desktops/displays. In an older software version, all monitors would have to share the same external desktop. Please ensure you are running ZerOS 7.9.7. To confirm, tap Z/Shift -> System Information.

Also, just as an aside, I tried to upload a photo of the iPad/FLX S setup

This is probably the quota limit for your account on the forum. We’ll look to increase this for you.

  7. Hi Tereva,

Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum.

It sounds like this fixture doesn’t have the Zoom parameter defined with a special of “Zoom” in the fixture library.

This can be updated using the Fixture Editor software, available to download from our website.

To do this download the fixture library and fixture editor onto a PC, import the fixture you need to edit from the library into the fixture editor, go to the fixture’s parameters and find Zoom, and then under properties choose a special of “Zoom”. You can then give the fixture a new name, save the file, and then load the fixture file into your console.

Fixture tools can be downloaded here...

    https://zero88.com/library#tools

Alternatively, send us an email to fixturesupport@zero88.com, and one of the team will be able to update the fixture file for you.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know.

Hmm sorry to hear you're still struggling with this.

The Console even says that there is 1 device connected but in SETUP -> Devices is nothing listed.

The 1 device will be the console itself - in ArtNet the console also counts as one of the connected devices.

I might just look for antoher Visualizer and see if it works to rule out any Windows problems. Any recommendations?

Many others have had success connecting Realizzer with FLX S, so I'm not sure what the issue is here. Are you running the latest version of Realizzer?

Is there any window in Realizzer which shows ArtNet input? Is there any way of mapping ArtNet universes to Realizzer universes?

If you would like to try the version of Capture visualisation software we use for demonstrations and training, see below...

But what I noticed was that as soon as Realizzer started sending replie's there was no ArtNetPoll from the console to be found in Wireshark.

With your current network setup, in Wireshark, you should see ArtPoll packets from FLX S every couple of seconds.

    18 minutes ago, LighterTim said:

Could it be that the access point is working to slow (I also noticed that the access point was heating up pretty fast)?

I wouldn’t have thought so, I certainly haven’t come across this myself. Even the simplest switches can support “10BaseT”, which should be good up to 40 universes of ArtNet.

    18 minutes ago, LighterTim said:

And is there any way to connect the console directly to the PC?

Yes, to do this simply connect the PC and console with a single Ethernet cable. For this you obviously won’t be able to use DHCP.

Give this a go and let me know how you get on.

  10. Hi Tim,

The S24 is only sending ArtPolls to 192.168.178.255

This is correct. That means it is looking for any devices with an IP of 192.168.178.x.

    10 minutes ago, LighterTim said:

Realizzer is actually sending ArtpollReplys but to destination 255.255.255.255. Is that normal (:?

255.255.255.255 is a limited broadcast address, which shouldn’t be used. Realizzer should reply with a directed broadcast (192.168.178.255).

If you haven’t tried already, try setting static IPs and subnets for the PC and console, and see if you have any luck.

If you have any questions let me know.

  11. Hi Tim,

Welcome to the Zero 88 forum.

I’m not at my laptop at the moment, so can’t look at the show file currently. From your description, it sounds like it is configured correctly on the FLX S24.

From @bungeefield description, Realizzer names ArtNet universe 0 “Universe 1” (just to add to the confusion!). Therefore if you are using Universe 1 onwards in Realizzer, ensure on FLX S24 you tap SETUP -> Universes -> ArtNet -> Reset to Defaults -> Starting at 0.

So I’m guessing your network is simply FLX S24 and PC plugged into a switch? And this switch also has a DHCP server built in?

If you tap Z/Shift -> System Information -> Network overview, ensure ArtNet is transmitting on the intended IP.

The best network test tool in this situation to use is Wireshark, available from the Wireshark website here...

    https://www.wireshark.org/

If you run this, you will be able to see if ArtNet is reaching the PC. In Wireshark, you will see ArtPoll packets as FLX S is “polling” the network to see what’s out there. You will not see ArtDMX, unless an ArtNet responder has asked for a universe to receive. Therefore if Realizzer is set to receive the universes correctly, you will then see ArtDMX routed to the PC.

If you aren’t getting any data from any software package, have you checked Windows Firewall settings?

Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know.

  12. Hello,

When in global cue only mode, cues are still not stored as block cues. If they were, this would stop move on dark working.

You therefore still have the option to store a Snapshot in global cue only mode, by holding SHIFT and tapping RECORD, to store a block cue.

    Hope this helps,

    Edward

  13. Hello,

If you can't see the SmartTag button within the Record or Update options, this means you are in global Cue Only mode, with tracking options disabled. In this mode, you won't be able to access the SmartTag option. To enable tracking options, tap SETUP -> Settings, and under Record & Update, enable tracking options. Tap SETUP to save and exit, and you will then be able to access the SmartTag option, when you press and hold either RECORD or UPDATE.

Even though tracking options are now enabled, if you don't wish to program with tracking, ensure that in the Record or Update options, Cue Only is selected indicated with a red stripe, rather than Track Forwards.

I hold Effect and tap Home

Apologies, forgot you were using FLX S, not FLX. EFFECT + HOME is only available on FLX consoles. To stop your effects from running on FLX S, you can simply tap effect palette 1, which is "No Effect".

Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know.
