Lag when selecting pages.....

Recommended Posts

Hi, this is a problem I have had since upgrading to ZerOS 7.9.6.

It is an intermittent problem but one that can happen just when you dont want it to (as is usually the case)

It is when 'Paging Up' or Paging Down'  I used to be able to do this at speed and most of the time still can but now and then there is quite a lag when changing pages.

Has anyone come across this before please....??

Hi Mac,

I will take a look into this.

Does the same lag appear when changing channel pages and playback pages, or is it just playback pages?

Edward

Hi Ed,  it mainly seems to be on the Playbacks.

Hi Ed,   I have just done a show run and this problem came up on numerous occasions.  Unfortunately it spoiled a couple of moments.  Are there any thoughts on why this may be and any fixes ahead please.  For info it is happening on my PC too....???

Hi Mac,

Please could you email me a copy of your show file, and I’ll take a look to see if I can recreate.

Would you be happy to try out the forum beta version? If you are that would be great, as you’ll be able to see exactly whether this solves the issue or not. As with most software updates, the forum beta includes performance enhancements. I can’t remember whether you have access to the beta forum? If you do, you will have access to the thread below, to download ZerOS 7.9.6.1. If you don’t please send me an email, and we’ll give your account beta access.

If you have any questions let me know.

Hi Ed,  thanks for the reply and apologies for the delay.

Yes I would be happy to try out the beta version to see if it makes any difference.

It seems I do not have permission to see the link so I will send you an email for the access as requested.

Hi Ed, just updated the desk to Beta version and programming over the next couple of weeks.  I will let you know how things go.

PS....  I am assuming V7.9.7 does not include all the current Beta fixes/updates.  Not mentioned on the release notes anyway.

Hi Mac,

I would recommend testing ZerOS 7.9.7. ZerOS 7.9.7 does include the performance enhancements that were introduced in the beta version, so please use this and see how changing pages performs for you. This is actually included under reference number ZOS-9615.

Hope this helps, please let me know how you get on.

Yes RigSync is the main area included in this issue number, however ZOS-9615 includes other performance enhancements too.

I just suffered exactly the same problem last week; mid-show with lots of 'on the hoof' playback/submaster changes.  Pressed Page up by a mistake and couldn't get back to the right page for between 30 - 50 seconds.  Did this several times, dammit!  Clumsy oaf.

We have a Leapfrog 48-96 with 7.9.6.

In the next couple of days am going to try to see whether problem was exacerbated by extra Fixture programming.  Will try to bring home the Show files, in case they are of use as another example of the same 'Lag' problem.

All the Best

I would recommend updating your LeapFrog’s software to ZerOS 7.9.7, which can be downloaded from our website below...

If you find the problem persists in the new software, please send your show files to support@zero88.com, and one of the team will take a look to see what may be causing the lag.

If you have any questions let me know.

Updated to 7.9.7

Still doing it.  Attached is show file.

Going between pages with nothing in them is OK.  To demonstrate pages with playbacks in, going up and down between Pages 7 and 14, for instance,  it cannot catch up, and gets progressively worse as you go up, down, up, down.
