FLX > ethernet > Ethernet lightning > iPad, is it Right ?

And on iPad you use IOS application ?

That is correct. When you plug an Ethernet adapter into an iPad, a new Ethernet menu appears in the Settings app under WiFi.You can then use this menu to configure your network settings. The ZerOS Remote and ZerOS Monitor apps will show any consoles available via both Ethernet and WiFi, with their IP addresses displayed.

But I know that external device aren't work as easily as something that is included. I can often see during shows, tablets connected to the sound management, and no longer work, because the WIFI hotspot falls

It is true that during a live show you don't necessarily want to rely on a wireless connection. However the Windows and iOS devices can be connected to the console via Ethernet, instead of WiFi. For example you can get Lightning to Ethernet and USB C to Ethernet adapters for iPad.

Maybe we could translate the French one back into English, it will probably have more information in it! 🤣 😈

That would be a new spin to "lost in translation" 😉

  4. Hello,

Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum.

I have never done patching before but I guess its a way of telling my desk that the light I have programmed for channel one, dmx 1 can be the light on say dmx 8 on someone else's rig?

Yes, that's pretty much it. Patching is purely the process of telling the console which channel fader controls which DMX address, and therefore, which light.

    16 minutes ago, cctheatre said:

'Use the cursor keys to select the menu option <DMX Patch>. The LCD and monitor display the DMX patch, in sequence from DMX 001.'

The external monitor purely shows you a repeat of the internal LCD, so you can therefore patch the console without an external monitor connected if necessary.

When in the <DMX Patch> in Super User, the up/down arrows allow you to choose each of the 512 DMX addresses. You can then assign the selected DMX address (DMX address at the top of the LCD), by tapping the button under the channel fader you wish that DMX address to be controlled by. The channel fader controlling the currently chosen DMX address will have it's button lit. If you tap the button, or press CLEAR, it will switch off, meaning that channel fader no longer controls that DMX address. If you press and hold CLEAR, the console will go back to the default patch. The default patch is called 1:1, meaning channel fader 1 controls DMX 1, and so on.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know.

  5. Hi Kay,

Screen shots can’t be made on the console. However if you load your show file into Phantom FLX S24 on a Windows PC, open the internal LCD window, and then hold ALT + PRINT SCREEN, you will then be able to paste this into an email.

    Hope this helps,

So can you define what loading "Setup & Palettes" actually loads

Loading the Setup, will load everything that is configured whilst in the console Setup. So that’s all your settings, defaults, universes and patch.

Palettes then includes all attribute palettes plus effects.

    - Save and load (position) palettes alone. So I don’t have to spend hours each new show setting up the same positions for movers that are hung in the same (marked) place in the same theatre. (Or how to do this with existing software).

If you took your previous show file, tapped SETUP -> Load, choose your show file and then choose to just import Setup & Palettes, would this work for you? You could then tap SETUP -> Clear Options, and then clear any attribute palettes you don’t need.

  8. Hi Tom,

Really glad to hear your console has arrived!

If you want to have a play with your console and don’t have any fixtures connected, instead you can connect to Capture on a PC. Capture is a visualisation software, which means you can control a virtual rig of lights on a PC. There is a free version that you can use with your FLX S. For more information, see below...

  9. Hello,

    Please follow the guide below...

    https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/cues-playbacks/playing-back-cues/rgb-colour-mixing-on-playbacks

This guide allows you to create an RGB plus dimmer fader for RGB fixtures.

If you are having difficulty, please send you show file to support@zero88.com, with a description of which fixtures you want to control by which playbacks, and we'll take a look to see what may be causing issues.

If you have any questions let us know.

  10. Hi Kay,

Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. Really glad to hear you have a FLX S24, hope you are getting on well with it.

Selecting the group page will not show options for 'Single select', 'Multiple select' and 'Clear selection', as shown in the manual. I am very sure that I used this options before, but maybe on previous version or on PC-version.

The single select/multi select options are on the full size FLX console only, and also the FLX S48 console on the external monitor. They aren’t available on the S24 internal touchscreen.

If you remotely connect to the console using a Windows PC, or iOS/Android device, you will be able to access these options via the Groups desktop.

  11. Hello,

Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum.

By default, when you record a colour to a playback, you will always get this colour when the playback is raised. This is due to LTP mixing. This means the most recent playback you raise will be the colour on the lights, not a mix.

Kevin has kindly linked you to the guide to get true RGB colour mixing on faders.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know.

  12. Hi Ian,

If the new fixtures weren’t in the old show file, they will be removed when the old show file is loaded in. Certain parts of show files can’t be imported into the show currently on the console.

If you wish to add the new fixtures to the old file, you will need to load in the old show file, and then patch the new fixtures in. You can then save this as a new show file.

If you have any questions let us know.

  13. Hello,

If you don't wish to use channel faders 25-48 to control individual fixtures, they can instead control playbacks using DMX In.

To do this, tap SETUP to take you to the fixture schedule, and select all channel faders you wish to use for DMX In. Then change the universe of these faders to an empty one, and set the to start at DMX address 1. Then tap Universes, and ensure the desk universe you patched the channel faders to is routed from one of the DMX Out ports. Then tap Triggers, and add DMX In to trigger a playback for each of the channel faders. The DMX In address is the DMX address of the channel fader configured in the Fixture Schedule. They can be assigned to control whatever playbacks you wish across other playback pages. Then all you need is a short DMX cable linking the DMX Out port your channel faders are assigned to to the DMX In port.

Hope this helps, it you have any questions let me know.

    m still on 7.9.5...

Can I go directly to the new 7.9.7 ?

Thank for your answers and happy new year !

Happy New Year to you too.

Yes as Kevin says, you can upgrade to 7.9.7 from 7.9.5.

ZerOS software versions are completely independent from one another, so you can upgrade/downgrade to and from any version.

If we want to add (e.g.) Colour to an Effect Palette then we are "forced" to record all Colour parameters so have to use the "green stripe" - it's not permissible/allowed to add only some colour parameters to an (Effect) palette, so we can't use "red stripe". (An "interesting" requirement, but that seems to how it is!).

That's exactly it. As you say, would definitely be nice to be more picky with this, and just allow for individual parameters from other attributes to be included. It's on the to-do list.

  17. Hi Chris,

Have done a bit of digging into this to remind myself how FROG2 operates. The Program Window was phased out of the FROG2 software in ZerOS 7.8.2.39 (the latest manual was written for software version 4.3). Instead all of the information that was in the Program Window, is shown in the bottom half of the Output Window, when fixtures are selected.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions let us know.
