My situation is the sockets on the ends of the 15A cable runs from the dimmer room are not in the best position for how we use the space any more and I have a handful of 15A extention cables of a couple of meters each that I use to get round this. But I need to use more than I have for an event next week so is it feisable to use a 15A double socket on the end of 1 channel run and plug two 1000w par64's on the end. I'm not going over the 10A limit, but is it OK that its all coming off 1 of the channel sockets, not both.

This would be absolutely fine. Providing that you are using suitably rated cabling, the cables and sockets will be rated up to 15 amps. The combined load on the pair of 15 amp sockets per channel, must not exceed 10 amps. You could therefore theoretically have 5 amps connected to both sockets simultaneously, or 10 amps connected to one of the sockets.

You could therefore plug in a pair of 1kw PAR 64s into a single socket of the dimmers by using a grelco/squelly.

    Hope this helps,

Noticed that our batons have been setup using Generic LED 3 Channel RGB.  It's always been like this and worked fine so not sure about that.

What I find confusing is there are 12 "bulbs" on the baton so each one is its own separate 3Ch fixture..  Very confusing.

This is the method that used to be used to control LED battens, where each "cell" was patched as a separate fixture. This is no longer required in the latest software for FLX consoles, as each batten can be patched as a single fixture.

If you would like to look at updating your console's software, and re-patching the individual cells as battens, please send us an email to support@zero88.com, and we can advise.

We are taking a USB backup of the desk but does this backup the fixtures?  Does not look like it.  Seems to only backup the programming.

When you save your show file to a USB drive, absolutely all settings, patching and programming will be saved. See the link below for more information...

I also noticed yesterday that this was all setup without using RDM.  I am wondering what would happen if i deleted the baton then run the rigsync?  Would this screw up everything?

In one very unhelpful word: "potentially". If your battens have RDM, and RDM that is implemented well, then it'll work absolutely fine. If they don't, it won't, so I'd suggest sticking with manual patching for now. Please see the link below for more information on RigSync...

Had a look through the baton setup this all looks ok to me.  each "bulb" has a fixture (CH#) and the DMX Address is +3 each time

Thank you for sharing a spreadsheet.

This confirms that your battens should be in 36-channel mode, to work correctly with your console. They will need to have the following start addresses:

    • Batten 1 - 144
    • Batten 2 - 180
    • Batten 3 - 216
    • Batten 4 - 252
    • Batten 5 - 288
    • Batten 6 - 324
    • Batten 7 - 360

Please check the battens are configured correctly, to match the patch on the console.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks both.

So if I do the following:

use RDM to patch all my fixtures

    disconnect from console

    start a new show file

reconnect to console and allow to discover all fixtures as set

store this as my base file

after visiting company has left reattach my console with base file loaded and press revert rig.

Will this re-patch my fixtures to how they were?

That is correct - by "start a new show file", make sure you perform a Reset Desk.

We are using a Zero88 and have come across a strange issue.

Firstly, can you confirm whether you are using a standard FLX console, and not a FLX S24 or FLX S48 console?

4 hours ago, Paul Bennett 211 said:

We are running multiple lights, we have 6 LED batons and trying to control the colours this worked perfectly before, we could select all batons and then select a colour.  However when we do this now baton number 3 turns a separate colour to the rest.   We have restored the desk from an old backup that was fine incase someone had messed with the programming, this did not fix the issue.

When we select the baton individually and then select red we get green,  It seems like the touch screen is using the button below where we press to select the colour but only on this one light.  If you press above the colour on the row above then you get the colour below for some strange reason.  But only on that one light

What could be the issue, where can i start?

As @Davidmk has suggested, the first thing I would recommend doing is ensure that the modes and DMX addresses of the fixtures patched in your console, match those set on the lights.

To find out the mode and address set on each fixture, you will need to navigate the menu of each fixture.

To confirm DMX addresses on the console, tap SETUP, to take you to the Fixture Schedule. Along the bottom of the Fixture Schedule you will be able to tap a button to filter and show all your battens. The addresses will be displayed in the right-hand column. To confirm the mode of the fixture, tap one of the fixtures in the Fixture Schedule under the "Change All Profiles" button. You should be taken to a window with three columns. The right-hand column is the mode column, where the current mode will be highlighted.

I'd recommend watching the in-depth video below, to find out more about the patching process...

I hope this helps. Please let us know how you get on.

@Davidmk - thanks very much for your support.

Disappointing as it means if a visiting company comes in and changes the mode and address of each fixture I will have to remap everything to get it up and running again.

For this, you could use the "Revert Rig Back" button. Pressing this button, will revert your fixtures back to the settings they were discovered in. Therefore one you have set your fixtures the required addresses and modes, you could reset your console, and then let your console discover all your fixtures. You can then save this show file, as your base RDM configuration. After the visiting company has come in, you can then reload your base RDM show file, and press Revert Rig Back.

Hi Is ii possible to trigger a macro from a cue stack that has been generated from a fixture file.

It is not currently possible to trigger Fixture Macros from cues. It is only possible to trigger User Macros. For more information, please see the link below...

    https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/cues-playbacks/cue-settings/cue-macros

The ability to trigger Fixture Macros from cues is something we would like to implement. This is logged as reference number ZOS-6741 on our system. I have raised the priority of this following your request.

I have a fixture that has lamp on and off macros that are auto generated. I want to trigger the lamp off macro from a cue in my cue stack but I am not able to select auto generated macros in the trigger macro screen of the cue I can only trigger macros that I have recorded on the console.

Currently, you could manually record a Lamp Off command into a cue, by setting the relevant Beam parameter to the required level in the cue, rather than using the Fixture Macros.

    Morning all,

Just configuring our rig to use RDM and I was just checking that when a show is saved it keeps a record of the RDM ref in relation to the fixture settings? So if I recall a show the fixtures will all be set up correctly?

ZerOS will apply your rig configuration to your show file. It will not apply your show file configuration to your rig.

Therefore, if you load in a show file, ZerOS will look at the RDM IDs of the fixtures in the show file, to see whether they match fixtures that are currently connected.

If there is a match, ZerOS will change the modes and addresses in the show file, to match the fixtures in the rig. In this situation it will not automatically change the addresses and modes of your fixtures.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

both our LEDj starcloth system & Cameo CL PixBar 650 pro fixtures are locked at 0% regardless of what percentage the inhibitor is at. All other fixtures I have patched respond to the inhibitor as expected just not the two mentioned.

When selecting the mentioned fixtures I only ever see pixel/RGB cluster intensities and never the master dimmer/intensity, could this be what's causing the inhibitor to constantly lock out these fixtures?
To be clear i'm programming these into the inhibitor stack as a whole unit ie 101@Full not 101.1>101.8@Full.

I have taken a look at the Cameo CL PixBar 650 Pro, and this seems to be recording into inhibit playbacks correctly. For me, the inhibit playback is correctly scaling the levels of all cell intensities, including when recorded as per 101 @ Full.

If this is not working for you, please email us a copy of your show file to support@zero88.com, and we will take a look.

When controlling this fixture, by default the Master Intensity will be locked at full, and you will not be able to control it. All intensity commands will be affecting cell intensities only.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Is there a specific shortcut to revert back - or what was the shortcut that they accidentally did to get the help window up?

To open or close the Help window you can hold SHIFT and the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys together.

That is quite impressive to get into accidentally!

Overall, I guess my findings makes sense: That Go/Step (with manual chase) is only working on submasters with faders (the chase will start first step when fader is raised above 5%?)

You are correct. If a Submaster button is configured to "Go/Step", the button will simply trigger the cues, at the level of the Submaster's fader. It will not output the cues. Therefore you will only be able to use this option with physical Submaster faders.

I believe this must be a mistake in the manual. Apologies for any confusion.

when ever i set a desired speed in a certain program on moving heads and record it on submaster, the speed of the effects is to fast, i've try it a couple of times but still the same thing happen.

but when i tried to record it on playback "GO"button, then it plays the same speed which i have recorded.

Is there any other way to adjust the speed on movingheads stored on submasters?

The speed of effects programmed into playbacks can be adjusted using the "Speed Override" control. The Speed Override control will affect the playback that is currently being viewed. Which playback are you currently viewing in the Cues window on the console? The playback number will be displayed at the top of the Cues window.

To view a playback, press and hold MEMORIES and tap the button below the playback fader you wish to view. Please ensure the Speed Override pot is at 12 o'clock, meaning there will be no Override, and cues will play back at their recorded speed.

    Hope this helps,

    Ordinateur Windows
    IP - 10.1.1.10, sous-réseau - 255.0.0.0
    Information - https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/networking/windows-ip-configuration

    Connexion à distance ZeroOS
    IP - 10.1.1.20, sous-réseau - 255.0.0.0
    Information - https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/setup/devices/remote-apps

It would be good to try connecting a different network device to your FLX S, instead of your SwisSonic router.

If you do not have an "Ethernet Switch" to connect to, please try connecting a Windows PC directly to your FLX S over Ethernet. You will then be able to run the ZerOS Monitor app on PC. It would be worth troubleshooting to check your console operates normally when connected to your PC.

If you do not have certain static IP addresses you wish to use, please use the following:

    Windows PC
    IP - 10.1.1.10, Subnet - 255.0.0.0
    Information - https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/networking/windows-ip-configuration

    ZerOS Remote Connection
    IP - 10.1.1.20, Subnet - 255.0.0.0
    Information - https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/setup/devices/remote-apps

Please try this, and let me know whether your console runs smoothly. If it does, this confirms the router is the cause of the freezes, and we can then explore why that may be.

If you have any questions, please let us know, or feel free to email support@zero88.com

    Apologies for the confusion.

If possible, I would recommend connecting your FLX S to an "Ethernet Switch" (Network Switch), and your router to the same "Ethernet Switch".

This will mean your console is not directly connected to the router. From your description, the router itself seems to be causing the console to freeze, and so it would be helpful to check whether going via an Ethernet switch has an affect.

  18. Hi @Klaas

OK, we cant quite find how to change that, will attach the show.

two observations, while LTP is on the situation above happens, with HTP the trigger happens, but doesnt apply to the intensity, the intensity needs to be manually applied to the currently playing memory to work.

The effect is on cue number 1 in the file.

Thank you very much for attaching your show file. There are a couple of aspects which are resulting in the behaviour you are seeing.

Firstly, your console is in global Cue Only mode. This means that the console is snapshotting the required fixtures automatically into your cues. In cue 41, which triggers your chase on playback 41, fixtures 2, 129 & 130 are snapshotted at 0%. As the Master Playback is configured to have an Intensity Mixing option of Latest Takes Precedence, the latest instruction is 0%, and therefore the Master Playback and your chase on playback 41 are not mixing effectively. These fixtures are then stuck at 0%, and cannot be controlled by the chase.

I would therefore recommend changing your Master Playback's Intensity Mixing option to Highest Takes Precedence. Upon triggering a chase from a playback, you should not need to manually raise the chase's playback fader.

The show file is also reporting that your console is running ZerOS 7.9.4 software. When you are able to, I would recommend updating your console's software to ensure you are taking advantage of all the latest features and enhancements. ZerOS 7.9.9 can be downloaded from the link below...

    https://zero88.com/storage/downloads/607844fa-0fdf-401a-9e42-29c8fac4e7bf/ZerOS-7.9.9.5.zip

Installation information can be found here...

    https://zero88.com/manuals/print?manual=zeros&type=section&content=zeros-software

As ZerOS 7.9.4 is several versions behind, I would not recommending updating your console during the run of a production, as there will be many software changes.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let us know.

    Edward

  19. Bonjour,

    Hello,

Thank you for your responses to my questions.

Thank you for confirming you are running ZerOS 7.10 software, and thank you for providing a link to your router.

Do you have an Ethernet switch available? If so, are you able to connect your console and the wireless router to the switch, so that it sits between the console and the wireless router?

If there are any show files you need to export to CSV, please email them to me, and I will be able to send you the CSV export. This issue will be fixed in ZerOS 7.11.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Hi Delfine,

Thank you for the information. Sorry to hear you have been having difficulty when connecting a router to your console.

A few questions to help understand what may be happening:

    • Please could you confirm the software version currently running on your console?
    • Please could you provide a link to the exact model of your wireless router?
    • You mention your console freezes - is it just the front panel buttons that freeze, or does the touchscreen freeze as well?
    • Does the console recover if you disconnect the router, or do you have to reboot the console?
    • Do you receive any error messages upon rebooting your console?
