Found a couple of old threads that seemed like they might cover this, but being old they had links that didn't go anywhere so apologies if this post feels like a repeat.

I have a show programmed with cues on the master. For the most part I programme the dimmers on the main cues and programme scene colours/chases/effects on to playbacks and trigger and release them as I go through the show. For the most part this works well but for some cues the colour will "pop" as one cue is released and a new one triggered (same fixtures).

I've played with what feels like all the playback settings and can't get the behaviour to crossfade smoothly.

Any ideas appreciated.

I've attached the show and fixture files and a good cue to look at is 26 to 27.

The Master Playback in your show file only includes 3 cues. Is there an updated version of the show file you can share which contains cues 26 & 27?

When you trigger a playback from a cue in the Master Playback, the triggered playback's colour will fade in over its own cue time. This colour transition will not be governed by the Master Playback.

When you release a playback from a cue in the Master Playback, that playback's colours will release as soon as the fixtures have faded out. The fade out is governed by the Fade Down time of the cue in the Master Playback that has the release.

Makes sense once one thinks about it, but please add to the "Top Tips" list!!! šŸ™‚

Cracking, makes perfect sense! I was just headed back here to say Iā€™d found it, the fact I could hit view and open a playback had erased itself from my brain.

Great work adding it to the tips for the next time I forget šŸ˜…
