Petera Posted May 17, 2023 Report Posted May 17, 2023 Our flxs48 touch screen has stopped working, display still working ok. a mouse or memory stick work in top usb socket but not in rear, touch screen not working in either port. Configuration? Any suggestions? Quote
kgallen Posted May 17, 2023 Report Posted May 17, 2023 External or internal touch screen? I think you're talking about external but you don't say. Did you do the calibration procedure in Setup? You'll have to do this after for example a fresh ZerOS install, or a factory reset. You might have to press the Update key for some monitors. Quote
Petera Posted May 17, 2023 Author Report Posted May 17, 2023 Sorry, yes, external monitor with hdmi and usb connections. Internal touch screen working ok. Tried the calibration procedure but touch screen not working to allow completion of the procedure. Quote
kgallen Posted May 17, 2023 Report Posted May 17, 2023 So if nothing works in the rear USB ports then @KWR88 is your man. Can you test your touchscreen on another device like a windows 10 machine since you say it doesn’t work in any usb port on the console. Is it possible the monitor got damaged in any way and it doesn’t work and it took out the usb on the FLX S? Does the monitor have any thru USB ports and if so can you see if those thru usb ports work with a known working usb device - from the FLX S and a Win 10 machine - even though we ‘know’ the touch on the monitor doesn’t work. Keith will need this info even if I can’t help you any further. Quote

We are aware of a compatibility issue in ZerOS 7.13 software, that can prevent certain models of external touchscreens from calibrating on FLX S48 consoles. It sounds like your touchscreen is one of the affected models. This compatibility issue will be solved in ZerOS 7.14 software once released. If you would like to try an early-access beta version that includes a fix for this issue, please let me know. This compatibility issue is not present in ZerOS 7.11 software. Therefore, if you would like to roll back your console's software, please let me know, and I can share installation instructions. Please note that there is no guarantee show files saved in ZerOS 7.13 can be imported into ZerOS 7.11 software correctly. 3 hours ago, Petera said: a mouse or memory stick work in top usb socket but not in rear Sorry to hear the rear USB port on your console doesn't seem to be working. Do you have a low power USB LED desk light you can try connecting to the rear USB port? Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
Petera Posted May 17, 2023 Author Report Posted May 17, 2023 Thanks all. I will access to the flx in the morning will check suggestions then and update. Quote

(Running ZerOS 7.13) Thanks Alex Quote

If you go to Z -> System Information-> System Info, can you see the touchscreen listed as a USB device at the bottom? Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
scottydog75 Posted May 19, 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2023 Hi Edward, I assume it is detecting it, as "0408:3008" disappears when I unplug the USB connection to the monitor. Quote

Yep that’s the one. What happens if you attempt to calibrate the monitor? Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
scottydog75 Posted May 19, 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2023 No response from the desk, I try and tap on the first calibration point (and areas around it) and it doesnt detect any touch. I have previously confirmed the monitor is functional when connecting it to my Win 10 PC. Quote
DALX Posted May 20, 2023 Report Posted May 20, 2023 As a test can you load ZerOS 7.11 into your desk and see if the touch screen is working again ? I use a Dell P2418HT 24 inch touch screen monitor with my FLX S48. The five point touch did not work on the external monitor with ZerOS 7.12, 7.13 but works with the Beta 7.14. I was able to use single point touch on the external monitor and the monitor calibration worked for each version of Zeros with my Dell P2418HT monitor. Quote

If there's no response, tap the UPDATE key, wait 3 seconds, and then try again. If there's still no response, please could you remind me of your touchscreen model? Hi Edward, Unfortunately still no response. Iiyama ProLite T2252MTS. As suggeted by DALX, I tried downgrading to 7.12 & 7.11 - still both with no reponse, so maybe I'm wondering if it could be my monitor again after all? Quote
Petera Posted May 22, 2023 Author Report Posted May 22, 2023 All cables refitted, factory reset carried out, last saved show ( after touch screen failed) reloaded. Screen calibrated, all now working! Quote

I'm not really sure what to suggest - there aren't any touchscreen compatibility issues affecting FLX between ZerOS 7.11 - 7.13. Could it be as simple as an intermittent USB cable connecting the touchscreen? When the touchscreen stops responding, is this always after having used the touchscreen with another device for example, or does it "randomly" stop responding? scottydog75 Posted May 23, 2023 Report Posted May 23, 2023 Hi Edward, I've re-plugged my touch screen into my PC and this is also now unresponsive - so I unfortunately assume the touchscreen element of the monitor is on the way out Thanks for the troubleshooting tips anyway! Quote

scottydog75 Posted May 23, 2023 Report Posted May 23, 2023 I did try which didn't make a difference at the time, however... I have since dismantled the monitor, and given the optical sensors and reflectors a good clean, and currently (fingers crossed) the monitor is now working correctly both on PC and FLX! Sorry for the wild goose chase, dodgy hardware after all! Quote
