FLX - fixture goes to zero when programmed into a cue

Hi - When I add a fixture into a cue - I build the cue state on the board, and press record, all the channels and fixtures are recorded execept a Stairville X-brick which immediately goes to zero...

tried various 'record next cue, record cue number x etc - behaviour is always the same - all fixtures record except this - which goes to zero.

If you can upload your showfile here, I'm sure Edward will take a look at what's going on with that fixture. Is there anything weird about it like it doesn't have an intensity channel (as such, not as e.g. a beam parameter).

Also let us know if you're in Tracking and whether SmartTag is enabled.

After wrestling with this - I’ve managed to update that cue to include the green light on that x-brick, this is about the 5th time I’ve tried - done exactly the same - but this time it worked, that light comes up in the cue and is stored.

I’ve also noted that the red text just means a custom fixture file.

im half pleased that it works, and half annoyed that I clearly still don’t understand the desk - I know I did exactly the same all the other 4 times.

We’ll there should be ‘nothing to know’ really - the fixture should just work for colour and intensity like any other. Sounds a bit like the fixture profile is wrong for the actual device, like the DMX channels are mixed up.

If you have the opportunity I’d patch a bunch of 1-channel dimmers from the base address of one of your x-Bricks and see what each channel does. List what you find here and with your show file Edward should be able to decode what the fixture profile says versus what you found from a channel-by-channel analysis.

It would be great if you could attach your show file, along with detailed step-by-step instructions of the process you used. I can then take a look and see why this may have been causing problems.

Hello,

It will be interesting to have news about this problems...

Just for having solutions on old ".ift"  fixture...

Even if ideally it is to no longer use the old "ift" files, it is to know how to react in case the problem arises....

"Actually had to have a show this past weekend and I had a stroke and ended up in the hospital...."

thank a lot

Eric
