Of course we're forever ungrateful and are intrigued what is being worked on for 7.14 (or beyond)! 😀

Possibly the wrong thread to ask in but I'm interested if there is anything upcoming for the (FLX) Effects Engine or it you might add more preset effects to the library (I'm not sure if you can add these via a library update or if it would require a new ZerOS release). My next show in October will require me to us a lot more movement and colour effects (I realise there won't be a new ZerOS before then!).

I'd expect nothing less 🙂

Waveforms and Auto Effect Palettes are all provided by ZerOS Library.

Hi Jon,

It's quite likely the current Auto Effects library will have what I need - once I've worked out how to tweak them to my needs. The additions you made a couple of ZerOS back were very useful, I was just curious if you'd had more ideas/requests and were building more options in.

I'll ask in a new/separate thread how you guys might suggest I build a certain effect (with LED movers).

Thanks!

Kevin

Currently, I don't believe we've heard of any new ideas based on the current waveform engine... but we're all ears to good ones! We do have ideas about more substantial changes one day.

Hi All,

Since updating to this version (7.13) we've noticed some of our DMX values have flipped in some of our fixtures, was this intentional?
Previous version: 7.10
Desk: OrbXF

Examples:
Our Equinox Fusion 260ZRs P/T speed now runs at 255 (full speed), 0 (slow) this is inverted compared to the manual and came in the newer fixture library like this.
Same thing happened with our MAC 250s/250+s the focus values have been inverted in the fixture library. 255 Sharp - 0 soft (opposite to the manual).

Just wondering if this is a bug or intentional?
I had to update quite a few palettes and Default/Home values to account for these changes.

Thank
Steve.

The issue was actually with ZerOS 7.10 software. ZerOS 7.10 was sometimes not correctly inverting parameters. In our library data, the specific parameters you mention of these fixtures are inverted. When it comes to P/T Speed, this is because ZerOS uses the logic that a higher value on the encoders results in a higher movement speed.

Upon loading the ZerOS 7.10 show file into ZerOS 7.13, ZerOS should have continued to use the show file fixtures, rather than using the latest library fixtures. This means that the fixtures will have operated how they did in ZerOS 7.10. The Fixture Schedule then allows show file fixtures to be converted to the latest version of the fixtures from the console's library, with the caveat that the newer versions of the fixtures may be different.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hello,

I come back a little on this 7.13 update, because I finally did not have time to install it.

What can you say about this new version?

Apart from those mentioned earlier in this post, are there any other concerns?

Indeed we can imagine what Version 7.14 will give given the satisfaction index of 7.13...

A good end of the day to all

Eric

Bonjour,

Eric

Hi Eric,

I've had a good experience with 7.13 on FLX. I posted some comments on the Beta forum if you have access to that.

The main takeaway seems to be that regarding the library compatibility it's better to start "fresh" on 7.13 if possible rather than load an old show. Having said that, if you tend to use the official library fixtures then Edward can recommend the fixture update process.

Regards,

Kevin

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello,

Good thing this update seems to be working well. It's positive and reassuring.

Then concerning the use of old programs from 7.11 to 7.13, I will therefore avoid.

Seeing indeed that the new library 3.3 seems to contain 95% of my projectors.
Which was not the case with 7.11, where I had to use a lot of "ift" fixtures that Edward had been kind enough to make...

So there I have a show at the end of the week, and I'm going to try to use the 7.13 with the 3.3 library. See what gives...

And so if I ever have a problem with a fixture, there is now the "creator" and "editor" fixture, it will allow to try that and I hope to solve the problems.

In the same way I will follow this show, see for the operation of a node (Swisson XND-4R5 ENode 19 "4 Port 5-pol) that I have had for a few weeks.
But not being used to how IP addresses work, I will have to test things a bit... And if it seems to work well, provide a duplicate... (maybe a showtec node)

So except big problems, I think to come back at the end of the week for a feedback...

Good evening

----------------

Bonjour,

It seems since my upgrade to 7.13 the "programmer time" function doesn't work anymore? it keeps 'snapping' instead of using the amount of time I put on the wheel.

Both on FLXS as on the Solution.

Tomorrow I 'll start pre-programming a tour, which should really be up and running coming saturday. (last minute job)

I guess I will be correcting and busking at least the first show. Would be very nice if the programmer time works.

Have you enabled Programmer Time? If you are on FLX S, tap the Z/Shift key to access Programmer Time on the fourth encoder wheel. You can then click the fourth encoder's button, to enable/disable Programmer Time. If Programmer Time has been configured onto a playback, the playback's button will enable/disable Programmer Time.

On Solution consoles, you can configure an empty playback fader to control the Programmer Time, in the same way you can on FLX S48.

Hope this helps,

Edward

Running 7.13 on all 3 consoles now. No problems till now, once had to use the onboard editor: Great!! and easy. Thanks for that! No worries anymore if I enter an Venue with fixtures unknown to the library.

Last week I puchased two Artnet-Sacn nodes. They seem to work flawlessly too. (I use Sacn) one Showtec  2/3 pocket, and one Lightshark LS-Node4.

So only good news from here.

Hello Ed75

see you are using showtec and LightShark nodes.
You say everything works really well.
In terms of configuration and operation, are you really satisfied?

Regarding the power supply of the LightShark, to have an external current adapter, does this not cause fragility?

How do you position nodes? Next to the control room or do you deport everything to stage level?

concerning the uses of the projectors, do you have many machines and models of Lyre & Led?

Thank for your help

Eric

Hi Eric.

Till now I didn't use the nodes extensivly, in a large venue. The way I will use them will vary, I wanted an flexible solution to extend my universes, (locally) and also want to be able to use them on longer distances instead of using multiple dmx-lines on a long distance.

For both the way of configuring is very easy, the showtec can be configured on the node itself and via a browser, the lightshark only via browser. Both is very easy.

Both have external powersupply, Via adapter. showtec 12V and Lightshark usb 5.0 V . The Lightshark can be powered via PoE if you want, the showtec i'm not sure.

I tested both directly connected to the desk, and via a 19"switch. All worked well. I used the SaCN protocol.

My own projector-kit involves Clay Paky's and Elations, and some ADJ pro.  (and dimmers of course, zero88, liteputer,  and TTL) ) if I need to rent it is often CLF and Rogue.

I do not own or have used any Lyre Led till now.

So far for now, I will keep you informed if I notice anything of interest  to share.

greetings! Ed

PS you're from belgium , so if you speak/write flemish we could PM in dutch if you want.
