Techie_v2 Posted February 12, 2022 Report Posted February 12, 2022 Hi again Question about stopping effects at the same time as setting intensity to 0. Obviously, if you set a light to no effect and set the intensity to 0, normally the light would turn off but the effect will still run as smarttag has ignored everything as the intensity is at 0. The way I have tought myself to get round this is when recording the cue where the effect stops, is to turn smart tag off and them make sure the effect attribute is selected. How ever I have just seen another forum post that says to stop effects you can hold shift when pressing record. Which would be the best practise way to do this as sometimes when turning smarttag off, I forget to turn it back on for the next cue recording? Thanks Quote
droiddk Posted February 13, 2022 Report Posted February 13, 2022 Hi I don't think my reply can qualify as a full answer but what is happening when using shift+record is that the recording is done using Snapshot so everything gets recorded and that means a blocking cue. I think your existing practise is fine for some situations and sometime a blocking cue can be useful. Just be aware that a blocking cue can mess things up if using tracking. Kind Regards Quote

I think this is the way indeed. You could make this cue an autofollow of course. Quote Freelance Theatre Lighting designer/operator/allround technician/tech production/rental . Netherlands. If you think you might forget to enable SmartTag again afterwards, then you will be able to use the Snapshot method (SHIFT + RECORD). 12 hours ago, droiddk said: I don't think my reply can qualify as a full answer but what is happening when using shift+record is that the recording is done using Snapshot so everything gets recorded and that means a blocking cue. As @droiddk mentions, if you wish to use Tracking, be aware that recording a cue with Snapshot, will "block" tracking, as every value for every light is given an instruction. You may find the video below helpful, if you'd like to learn more about Snapshot and SmartTag... Hope this helps, Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
Techie_v2 Posted March 3, 2022 Author Report Posted March 3, 2022 Ah, I didn't know the shift and record was just a shortcut for snapshot, thought it was some magic key combination! Thanks 1 Quote
