Alasdair Posted November 30, 2021 Report Posted November 30, 2021 (edited) We have a potential requirement for services of someone living local to Birmingham over July next Year 2022 at the Commonwealth games… (If we get it)! We are tendering by the end of this week. We have a new three year old FLX with monitor (only used twice)! Basically we would need an operator to programme and save a sequence of fountain jets as part of an overall show which will be to control a minimum of 22 switches via DMX switch packs (our Stock) and (possibly the same amount of Waterproof lights which again we have) and some other triggered wet effects. I think initially we would be given some direction from the creatives as to the sequence, length and complexity of the scene and then they will edit it on the fly during rehearsals so this will mean some quick programming changes. The idea is (as I understand it) the show will be run from the main show control via SMPTE time code once rehearsals are complete. But they require manual back up programmed into your desk in case of timecode failure and some quick programming during the rehearsals as directed. We estimate we will require someone on site at the Alexander Stadium B42 2LR ready for programming from the 7th of July with live rehearsals through till the night of the 28th July which is the Opening Ceremony, So potentially three weeks. (We assume there will be some down time during the scheduled run through’s). We imagine we will be under cover somewhere. There will be at least 2 of us there plus your programmer during these times. Do you live around Birmingham? Is this something you can do for us? If you could give us a price ASAP to operate and any other associated costs for 3 week period as a starting point. Edward Z88 Posted November 30, 2021 Report Posted November 30, 2021 Hi @Alasdair Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. Thanks for reaching out to FLX S users on the forum. It might just be worth clarifying a couple of points: 1 hour ago, Alasdair said: We have a new three year old Flx 24 with monitor (only used twice)! FLX S24 consoles do not have an external monitor output - do you mean a FLX S48 console? 1 hour ago, Alasdair said: The idea is (as I understand it) the show will be run from the main show control via SMPTE time code once rehearsals are complete. FLX S consoles cannot be triggered by SMPTE timecode. If you are looking for MIDI Timecode support, I would recommend using the FLX console... https://zero88.com/control/flx If you have any questions, please let us know. Alasdair Posted November 30, 2021 Author Report Posted November 30, 2021 (edited) Hi Edward This is the serial number of the desk is this the FLX 48? Edited November 30, 2021 by Edward Z88 Serial number hidden Quote
kgallen Posted November 30, 2021 Report Posted November 30, 2021 No that's a full FLX - just known as "FLX" not "FLX <some number>". You can do anything with that. FLX S24 and FLX S48 are "entry level" desks. You have "the daddy". 1 Quote
Jon Hole Posted November 30, 2021 Report Posted November 30, 2021 I've moved the topic into "FLX", updated the title and edited the origional post to clarify "FLX", not "FLX S24". Quote Jon Hole Global Product Manager, Systems and Control
