delfine
Merci ! Davidmk
What you've done should work - I've done similar many times. Sounds like you may have recorded the zoom parameter with your intensity. Delete the intensity playback and re-record it making sure beam is not selected. Also, if you haven't already, press & hold setup and press the zoom playback button then select the general tab and ensure beam is selected under fader controls. kgallen
It might also be that Release on Lower is set on the Intensity playback, this means once lowered the console is no longer controlling the fixture (i.e. zoom) from the playbacks. Yes, it maybe that ! I will try again wednesday. thanks a lot

Probably you will have to change the Release on Lower setting on your Zoom fader too. The other point about the Zoom fader is the beam/shape parameter will be LTP, so if any other playback controls the zoom of these fixtures then your Zoom fader will be "out of date". Hopefully Edward can clarify!

I think @Davidmk has hit the nail on the head here - it sounds to me like there is zoom information recorded in the intensity playback. Therefore when you raise the intensity playback, the zoom will always go to the value that is stored in the cue, replacing the zoom value that had been controlled by your Zoom playback. When you want to start getting specific about what gets recorded where, I'd recommend disabling SmartTag in the Record Options. Therefore bring up the intensity of your fixture. Then press and hold RECORD, and from the Record Options window ensure that the SmartTag button is disabled, indicated with a blue stripe on the button. You can then tap the button below the playback fader you wish to use for the fixture's intensity. Then double tap CLEAR select the fixture, and then adjust only the Zoom parameter to the level you need it. Then tap RECORD, and tap the button below the fader you wish to control Zoom. Then go into the settings of this playback, and enable Fader Controls Beam. This will give you 2 independent playbacks - one for the fixture's intensity, and the other for Zoom. Merci beaucoup
Ed75
Sorry to 'misuse' yor topic for this, but I was playing with the same subject a few days ago. Managed to get every fixture parameter under a fader, just for the fun of trying it, and see how it worked, and learning it. I also managed to put pan and tilt under two faders, BUT....it seemed the '0' to '100' range referred tot the 'home' position as '0' . Which is in my case 50% of the real pan and tilt. *) Which left me with half of the full range on a fader. Is this normal behaviour? Or do I miss something here? (again 🤓 ) Recording with the values at zero resulted in the first half of the movement on a fader, (0-50%) recording at 100% resulted in the second half. (50-100%) It's not important , I am not going to use it this way for pan and tilt, but it leaves me a bit curious now. *) : could it be the default values of the fixture itself too, causing this? When you record a parameter onto a playback, and enable Fader Controls, the fader will crossfade the parameter from its current value, to the recorded value. If Pan/Tilt are currently at default, the fader will therefore fade you from 50% to the recorded value. You could therefore update the default for the fixture's Pan and Tilt to 0%. That way your playback faders would have control from 0% to 50%, with the fixtures in their original default position when the fader is at 50% travel. Information on editing fixture default values here... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/controlling-fixtures/defaults Tip - record your fixture's Pan and Tilt at 0% in a position palette. Then apply your new position palette, and then update the fixture's defaults. That way, the fixture's default value will reference the position palette. This allows you to easily update the palette, to change the fixture's defaults. Yes ! Je n'avais pas pensé à ça. Merci pour l'astuce !!!

So the conclusion is indeed the max or the min fader value, (rec at 0 default is max. rec at 100 default is min. ) , depends on the fixture's default values in the desk. As my question was . I put them in 0 pan/tilt as default and it works. The palette idea is nice. Thanks a lot again! ! Quote Freelance Theatre Lighting designer/operator/allround technician/tech production/rental .
