Did I discover a bug? (Zeros 7.9.9 FLX S48)

Hello All,

As mentioned before I'm diving into Zeros a little bit more now, watching tutorials , and fiddling around on my FLXS .

Sometimes I'm also checking the most basic things, though I don't normally use all of them, I've got time now to fiddle around.

I always use the Master playback for my main cue list. (Theatre guy you know) . And I use it as configured by default. E.g. the fader is HTP master and the button GO (fade).

tonight I changed the fader function to Manual Fade (2 ways) , and went through a few cues by fader. With the result the 'GO' button is out of function?

I think this is a bit strange. The 'GO' button is not responding , even after I changed the settings again. (the fader settings back to HTP Master , and even the GO settings to snap and fade)

No result. It requires a restart of the desk to make the 'GO' work again.

Anyone ideas about this?

@Ed75worth getting yourself registered as a beta tester. Whilst you may or may not have time to help here (it depends for us all) there may be discussion there that you can contribute to (that part of the forum is not general access) given your experience and also your ‘fresh eyes’.

There was a bug a while back with 2-way playbacks that had similar attributes to what you report (although it was with a general playback rather than the master). I’m not sure what that status of that ZOS is (I’ll dig it out when not on a phone). Possibly it was fixed, but it came to mind with your report.

Good to have you ‘on board’!

When a playback is set to "Manual Fade", the Go button is disabled. Rather than using the Go button, moving the fader advances you through your cues.

There is an issue we are aware of, where if you set a playback back to HTP Master in the playback settings, the playback still functions with Manual Fade behaviour. This is the issue @kgallen mentions, which is logged as reference number ZOS-8363 on our software tracking system.

Upon setting a playback back to HTP Master, you can copy it to another playback, and then back to the master playback, and it will use HTP Master behaviour correctly.

Thank you both for your answers, crystal now.

It just seemed a bit strange to me that fader control excludes the "GO' button.

Didn't remember that from reading the manual. And indeed it is not mentioned I think. (just read it back)

Thank you for the invitation to your Beta test group. I'll send one of you a PM about that.

Cheers ,Ed

By the way, just plugged in a 13" touchscreen monitor, works like a dream. ;)

Any updates on this? I checked in 7.10 and it still behaves this way.....For me it is not a very very big issue, but I know of a venue which considers buying FLX console(s) And I think it will be a problem for them.

Apologies for the inconvenience this issue causes. This issue (ZOS-8363), is currently scheduled to be fixed in ZerOS 7.11, subject to priorities changing.

I have raised the priority of this.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Thank you very much Edward. The same question arises about exclusive playbacks.

I’m at this venue right now, and 7 techs playing around on a FLX here. Which causes questions of course.

Seems the exclusive playback one is also considered important here .
