    • "Looks" palettes (single palette with ICBSP info)
    • Channel select via palettes (if no fixtures are selected, selecting a palette selects relevant palettes)
    • Exclusive Playbacks (a playback not affected by GM, RemDim, Inhibits, other Playbacks, and not recorded into cues)
    • Ability to create RGB faders more easily
    • Rig plan layout (show fixtures where they’re physically located)
    • Stage Sizing (touch-based interface to move fixtures to specific stage locations)
    • Undo functionality
    • Ability to update multi cells simultaneously (eg, update fade time of multiple cues)
    • Custom desktop layouts on FLX / FLX S
    • Refreshed user interface (new skin)
    • Improved power control (eg, ability to switch relay power to a fixture / whole rig via a dedicated UI, without eating into fixture limitations)
    • Multi-keyboard support (eg AZERTY etc)

Hello,

For instance some part looks to be ahead :

- Improve effects engine

- Rig plan layout

Custom desktop layouts on FLX / FLX S

Undo functionality

- Fixture builder within ZerOS

- Dimming curves

When do will stop this topic and start to add some popular choice on futur ZerOS ?

Thank

Eric

There’s no plan to stop this topic, we’ll just keep updating it by adding new ideas and removing the ideas we implement - like we’ve already done when we released ZerOS 7.11:

ZerOS 7.11 has been released which fulfils "Colour mixing with mutli-emiter LEDs (eg, Amber, UV, Lime, Cyan etc)" - so I've removed this option from the poll. At the time, it was at 8.83% with 25 votes, making it the highest voted feature.

I was just reading a reddit article and it made me think about the issue many of us have with non-premium LED fixtures and their inability to dim nicely at the bottom end. The suggestion in this thread is to add a delay to the dimming instructions to LED fixtures to help them blend with traditional fixture dimming. Maybe this is something that could be added to a fixture in patch - a delay to the dim value being output. (This would be analogous in sound to applying a delay to an audio output for particular physical outputs).

This isn't restricted to LED fixtures those with discharge lamps that use shutter dimming come on suddenly and gain most of their apparent brightness within a few points.

Even incandescent lamps have this issue but not as extreme and helped because ordinary dimmers have a built in curve - called the S law - where current goes up quickly at the bottom and top but more slowly in the middle. They also have pre-heat where a small amount of current passes through the lamp all the time, even when the dimmer is at zero.

I haven't tried it but I suspect a different dimmer curve is required for LEDs and shutter dimmers, one that goes from Zero to the "visible light" point very steeply, is very shallow from there until the point where further changes are imperceptible and then steeply again to full. I think this is an extreme version of the S law.

Dimmer curves are in the voting list above already.

PS Really old readers, who have used resistance dimmers, may recall that the windings were not evenly spaced - this was also in response to the non-linear relationship between voltage, current and apparent brightness.

Yes, I'd definitely see this being a custom dimmer curve, where you stay at 0% for the first 1/10th, then fade up to 100% over 8/10th, and then stay at 100% intensity for the last 1/10th.

We've released a BETA version of ZerOS which supports "Fixture builder within ZerOS" and "GDTF support", along with various other new features.

If you would like to be involved in testing this software, please drop us an email to Support@Zero88.com

It's interesting that GDTF Support was voted so low on the forum... but as we said right at the start of this thread:

Support for GDTF has been one of the more regular requests via feedback through other channels.

Can you tell me if the custom screen settings is on the list and where abouts roughly please? As far as usability for me this is the biggest hinderance during a plotting session.

Thanks

Maybe the "Custom Desktop Layouts on FLX / FLX S" option?

^as @kgallen mentions, this would be covered in the customisable desktop layouts.

Is this a thing or are you referring to the list of wants?

when I said list I meant the one you were working on not our would be nice list.

Custom desktop layouts is on our roadmap. There are many factors that decide the order of the roadmap, one of which being the votes in this forum thread.

As discussed on another thread, being able to "clone" or "apply" palettes recorded on one fixture type to other fixture types, e.g. colour palettes.

ZOS-3718 is already logged for this and updated with discussion from the following thread.

ETA: Reading through this thread, I see I already added the "Format Copy" idea which is related.

I've added "Global Palettes" to the voting list (bottom item) - feel free to vote for it!

Any chance of "everything" pallettes allowing a combination of colour, beam, shape and position?

Edit: Oops, just realised that this is already in the list a "looks" pallettes.

Yep - these are referred to as "Looks" palettes in the list. These are sometimes known as "Preset" palettes.

Currently, if you wish to record a "look" palette, you can hold SHIFT and tap RECORD, and then tap any empty palette in any attribute.

Why didn't I know that? Thanks!

Not directly related to ZerOs but any chance you could improve the image quality in ZerOS Monitor (Windows)? Its pixelated 😕

Would you be able to take a screenshot of your ZerOS Monitor window, and email this to support@zero88.com? We’ll then take a look.

Done :)

I really like the new improved graphics in Phantom ZerOS.

Hi all, is there any idea about the adding of OSC-functionality? (via network) am really waiting for this. right now I am still forced to use a laptop with lighting software with every show I need this. Despite having two zero88 lighting desks running the newest software..........all very nice , but I think osc functionality is nowadays sort of basic need.......

I am doing quite a lot of (smaller) shows which would fit a FLXS perfectly, but I can not use it, because of this lack of OSC functionality. It is really a pity I have to solve this by using a laptop for lighting.....
