fixtures

hi, I am new to the FF88 and was a bit lost with the amount of moving lamps I can fit on the zero 88 fat frog. 

there are 12 buttons to attribute to movers via profiles, is that all I can use or is there a banking system that I cant find/make work?

any help appreciated

Fat Frogs can control a total of 12 fixtures, using the 12 fixture keys. These can’t be paged. For information on the Fat Frog, including the manual, please see the link below…

Ok thanks Edward, I will have a rethink, I know I can reverse the pan/tilt on the lamps so pairs might be the answer

I think I need to get a few set up and play over the winter months to see what I can get out of the desk but at the moment I am thinking it is not quite enough

for all the cans and movers I have.

@Dave - the Fat Frog was an innovation in it's day - the previous Zero offering of the Sirius 250/500 could handle fixtures but it was physically a beast to carry around. I lit a few events with it and it was my personal choice but the Frog bought a level of portability and ease of use that the only other offering - the Pulsar Masterpiece didn't offer. Strand had GeniusPro on the 400/500 series platform but controlling fixtures was an expensive "add on" - can you believe that?

However because of it's age - it does suffer from the thinking of the time where moving fixtures were expensive parts of a rig and colour changing was scrollers not LED's. It did evolve in to the Leapfrog/ZerOS era which as a platform facilitated control over more fixtures, easier control & setup too.

If you're looking for longterm and need to control lots of fixtures then perhaps start saving for an FLX or a used Orb XF - just as portable as your Frog but infinitely more powerful and adept at being creative with fixtures.

I'll second what Ian says.

I've seen some impressive conventional plus mover-based shows done on a Fat Frog (far more than I was ever able to achieve!). I used my Fat Frog for 10 years but gaining many more LED lights and movers I upgraded to an FLX. I can't imagine now moving back to the FF with such rigs. Fat Frog partial mode drove me to drink! 😄 Amongst many things with ZerOS you get move on dark and tracking functionality that just works there in the background.

If you can't stretch to the full FLX then the FLX S24 and S48 have most of these advanced features with a UI that will be a straightforward migration for you from FF. The "big" FLX in addition offers command line programming which is a big help for programming efficiency if you have non-trivial rig sizes.
