Jason Brameld Posted November 15, 2020 Report Posted November 15, 2020 I updated our demo desk to 7.9.8 the other day. I noticed that the new improved expanded fixture library doesn't have ledj in it as a manufacturer, but the old library did. I saw on a post from Edward that there is an update due very soon - will this be included in the updated library? On a related note, can the existing fixture editor (2.6) be used with the new library or will there be a new editor along at some point? Thanks, Jason. Quote
Edward Z88 Posted November 15, 2020 Report Posted November 15, 2020 Hi Jason, 3 minutes ago, Jason Brameld said: I noticed that the new improved expanded fixture library doesn't have ledj in it as a manufacturer, but the old library did. “LEDJ”, and “Equinox”, and both product ranges from “Prolight”, rather than manufacturers themselves. Therefore in the new library, LEDJ fixtures can be found under Prolight. 4 minutes ago, Jason Brameld said: I saw on a post from Edward that there is an update due very soon - will this be included in the updated library? ZerOS 7.9.9 is currently scheduled for release by the end of the year. This will include another big update to the library. 5 minutes ago, Jason Brameld said: On a related note, can the existing fixture editor (2.6) be used with the new library or will there be a new editor along at some point? Individual fixtures from the library (.zlbr format), can’t be imported into the Fixture Editor. However, the Fixture Editor can still be used to create custom fixture files (.ift format), which can be loaded into the console. There are currently no plans for a new Fixture Editor. I hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
Jason Brameld Posted November 16, 2020 Author Report Posted November 16, 2020 Thanks for the update. I can go looking under prolight, but from a user perspective picking up a fixture, or being told that the venue has some LEDJ or Equinox fixtures, many wouldn't necessarily know that they are distributed by Prolight, and may struggle to find them as a result. Elumen8 are also distributed by prolight, but they are listed as a manufacturer in their own right, so what's the logic for not doing the same with LEDJ and Equinox? Quote
