ZerOS 7.9.6 gets slow

Recommended Posts

I have just teste the new ZeroOs 7.9.6 on my FLX S48.

I created a new show, patched only two moving heads. I have nothing recorded. I only played with the programmer. After a break of 20 minutes the desk do respond very slow. When i hit clear to deselect everything it takes some seconds to clear the programmer. When i change fader pages you can see the LEDs take some time. It is possible to get both LEDs on... Yeah i have got a thrid Page 😉

I dont't know whats going on. But it seems that the hole desk is busy with something. But there is nothing running. No cue list... no effect...

Hi Erics,

Strange. Can you go into (Z) > System Info and take a photo showing the information in there (desk version, co-processor version etc).

Hi Eric,

Sorry to hear this.

If you tap Z/Shift -> System Information -> System Text, are there any error messages being reported? If so could you take a picture of this screen and email it to me?

I have logged this error report on our system as ZOS-9368 for investigation.

If you have any queries let us know.

Edward

I have taken a video from the effekt. This is a screenshot from the video. I have not tried to look up the system information text. After a reboot the FLX works normal. I will try to recrate it. Perhaps i can find some more helpful information.

Hi,

I made the very same experience with our Orb XF.
Strangely after going into Setup and back again everything was responding fine again

Best regards

Sven

Hi both,

Erics - It would be good to know if existing SETUP fixes it for you too.

Both - Would either of you be willing to (and do you have time to) try some software which might fix it for you?

Thanks,

(Erics - thanks for the photo. As this included your serial number, I've taken it offline - we got the information we needed from it)

Hi both,

I've just uploaded a beta software release to our beta forum (which you're both members of) which we believe will fix this issue you've seen.

Is there any chance you have an opportunity to try it?

Thank you,

Jon

Hi Jon,

I can test the beta software release. Until now i havn't reproduced the issue. But i only made some simple programmings with the FLX on the weekend. Good to hear that you have found something so fast. I hope to report back until the end of the week.

Hi Erics & Sven,

Just wondering if either of you had had a chance to try out the beta?

Appreciate it,

Jon

Hi Jon

unfortunately (or luckily?) I was not able to reproduce this issue again 😏 (Even as I did some very intense Programming sessions)

So I would not be able to tell if the fix would solve something.

sorry!!!

Best regards

Sven

Hi Jon,

I have made some test on friday and saturday. But i was unable to reproduce the slow down. So i have not upgraded to the beta. This week i have some more time for testing. I hope i get a workaround ro repeat the error and can see if upgrading will fix it.

Thanks very much for trying this, glad to hear the slow down isn't causing an issue now.

If you have any questions let me know.

Edward
