scottydog75 Posted September 28, 2019 Report Posted September 28, 2019 Interesting to see the addition of 'Continuous' and 'Delta' DMX transmission; I haven't heard of this before. What is the benefit of switching to Delta transmission? Quote
Edward Z88 Posted September 28, 2019 Report Posted September 28, 2019 Hello, 1 hour ago, scottydog75 said: Interesting to see the addition of 'Continuous' and 'Delta' DMX transmission; I haven't heard of this before. What is the benefit of switching to Delta transmission? This option has been added thanks to the firmware update. Continuous streams DMX at a rate of 29Hz. Delta streams DMX packets whenever there is a change in DMX data from the console. If there are no changing values from the console, the data rate drops 1Hz. It is therefore a useful option to use for a couple of reasons. Firstly if there are DMX devices on the line that are not truly DMX compliant, changing this could help control them, by changing the data rate. It also can be useful when running effects. If in continuous the parameter changes would happen 29 times a second, whereas delta would increase this for an update every time there is a change. It’s therefore an option that you’ll probably not need to change, but useful to have if you run into any issues. Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
martin-144 Posted September 28, 2019 Report Posted September 28, 2019 Hi Jon, I installed the update today and played around a little bit. Fortunately we are still pre-production. Patched a bunch of Lamps, Dimmers, and LEDs. So far no complaints. Martin Quote
