In order of priority (to me)...

High - Faders screen able to display any playback page, not just the one selected on the main desk. I use a wing (obviously not on the same page as the main desk) plus a midi keypad to fire playbacks on yet another page - very annoying being unable to see these without changing pages on the main desk (I always forget to change back for one thing). If view+page up/down or view+cursor left/right (or up/down) aren't doing anything then they might be ways to select the page (sorry FLX-S users) but I expect you'll think of something.

Medium - Midi notes/cues. As it stands this operates on the currently viewed playback. Would it be possible to add an option in setup to select a particular playback instead. "Currently viewed" is just too vague for my purposes.

Low - I've had the occasional problem when I have inadvertently hit channels/playback, page up or page down. Might be nice to have a way to lock these (press and hold for a number of seconds maybe).

Hi all,

cool Idea. Let's hope the ZerOS gods are merciful to us 😉

My most missing features are:

- Pixelmapping/Matrix (yes it is in W.I.P. but really really need it. The sooner the better)
- Independent "real" FX-Masters to independently scale FX Size and FX Speed. I never understood why speed and size were bound together.

Best regards
Sven

- indeed have parameters at the level of effects that can easily allow to act on speed, or size, or offset or other in a more intuitive way. On version 7.9.4, some parameters can easily go into too big or too small limits, by just changing a few things ...

- The ability of some consoles is to be able to have effect palettes playing on the colors, on the gobos, on alternations of events specific to each family of projectors ...
How to get to play on some parameters more easily without having to spend an infinite time of programming ...

- More freedom on the windows of the external touch screen.

- Subgroups or control groups of projectors with more intuitive access and allowing to work faster.

- In a global way, to have possibilities through the effect palette to be able to act on a group of projectors more quickly with more effects and access to more effective basic parameters to have a recorded show quickly.

Indeed what can easily miss is the time!

And if this is not directly related to the new OS, but a manual that repeats the basic events of the current system, and not a version too old ...

Forgot this: show shifted parameters. ie. I press shift and fan fixtures, the values or the fanning mode cant be seen from anywhere as far as I can tell.

Something along the lines of magic sheets, so I can see my rig for a quick selecting, as well as being able to customise this with buttons to perform tasks such as house lighting, some syntax etc.

Printable Set up sheets i.e. with Fixtures, associated channels and DMX addresses ....  thanks.

I second this, some sort of Excel/CSV output from the fixture schedule would be a great help

High
- Support for Fixtures with sub-fixtures for multi RGB(AW) or only multi dimmer channel (for easy handling, creating effekts, need less faders)

Medium
- Free assignable soft button page for cues or cuelist with assigneable button behavier like flash, toggle, flash + go + release. So you can can programm effekts like strobe, fog, colour flash to it without spending much faders and you can name them easy. Page should be assignable to internal or external touch screen
- RDM controls to see RDM parameter from devices and send rdm commands to them

Low
- usb midi control for FLX S range
- customized (dmx) output screen, to see what happening and for easy programming without fixtures connect. with simulation of LED colours and dimmer values

I use: Zero 88 FLX S48 / ETC ColorSource 40 / GLP Creation 4096 / Chamsys MQ70 / Madrix

When programming I find the cue stack listing and current/next bar behaviour really annoying - because by definition I'm at the end of the cue stack I'm always working at the bottom of the cue stack list on screen. When playing back then the "next" cue is in the centre of the screen cue list. This is fine. It's when programming it drives me batty...

There are some screens provided on Orb that I've seen you chaps using the get more detailed information on cues/fixtures etc when debugging stuff. As you don't sell Orb anymore (so don't need feature-differentiation to FLX) can you port these screens to FLX? Of course now I want one, I can't find an example where you've done this on the forum to show here even though I've been looking for about an hour... 😣

Debugging RDM fixture setup is impossible. Like Erics above, "RDM controls to see RDM parameter from devices" please. I know you have some internal debug screens you use.

Looking back there are a lot of ZOS enhancement requests that us early-adopters have raised. Would be good to see some of those make it into the software finally, or at least get some sort of roadmap so we can "reliably" know when to expect them. I'm including the ones from 2015-2016 that have "gone quiet"...

I agree to that. When programming at the end of the cue stack, the display tends to cut your last cue. And you unintentionaly jump to the first cue causing strange eyes on your director's face.

Don’t worry - we check the forum regularly and have been keeping an eye on this thread. Really good to see everyone’s thoughts and comments on ZerOS.

We have been working hard developing ZerOS 7.9.7 (which there are images of on the forum for people with beta software access), which will include the updated fixture library. This library is required to allow for most of the suggestions and requests in this thread, so we are excited to get this released.

If you have any questions let us know.

Thank you Edward for considering our requests, but if all is not possible ... (thank a lot for the 7.9.6 PDF manual)

In fact it is certain that this console FLX can work with a time of preparation before a show (Theater / dance) or show some time in advance.
But the other thing you have to see is that sometimes the time is limited. In this case, having to have
- quick access,
- FX capable of generating basic things,
- speed of movement and amplitudes of easily accessible movements
and in fact everything that can take control of LED and Moving Head projectors, will give strength to the FLX (ZerOS) and so can claim in rental companies to have a console that requires hours of preparation for a show that must be mounted quickly.

Because playing on a lot of parameters and looking to perfect things is always better, but sometimes we can call us in the morning at 8am for help, or learn that something planned is changing or not having the equipment provided (Pannes , change of rental company, etc ...) and there is a console that can be driven easily and quickly

So I'm going to update to 7.9.5 to 7.9.6 with firmware update, and I will see all the news things...

Thank Eric

High: Assign one fixture multiple dimmers (multiple brightness attributes), Soft buttons on FLX S for home, max and default and for UDKs.

Medium: Visualisation of light (color, possibly gobo if image provided and rough direction aim of light), FX constuction for FLX S.

Low: Ability to create fixture profiles on desk (give start address and work from there, you can control the light and figure out what the values are for boundaries etc).

Hi Myles,

Thanks for the comments.

Could you expand a little on this one? FLX S already has the Home button which can be used for homing fixtures, and configuring Max Level and Defaults...

UDKs

What would you like to be able to do with UDKs on FLX S? Do you find you would need these as well as playbacks?

On the FLX S24/48 there are no home buttons or UDKs like on the FLX unless i haven't found them, soft UDKs would be useful so we can access RemDim and Highlight etc. Currently when i want to add max levels or ajust home etc i have to save the show and load it on a phantom instance of the FLX which is a pain as i generally only get 2-3 hours to set up every thing.

Edit: I have just found the home function, however i would be interested to see this more clear in the documentation because i have not seen this anywhere.
