Hello,

Question about "default configuration"

So I see in this option that you can configure
"intensity, beam, color, position and effect", for having a different setting.
Imagine that for my moving head position at at central position  (50% pan and tilt) that in fact on stage not exactly in the right position.
Can I use this default option for example having in "central position", the real central position on stage?
In fact, having this option for the right position that I want ?

thank for your help

Hi Eric,

The default values, are the values your fixtures go to when no playbacks are running, and there is no information in the programmer.

If you would therefore like to default the positions of your moving fixtures on stage, move them to the location you would like them to be in, tap RECORD HOME -> Default. You will need to ensure SmartTag is disabled whilst doing this. Anything in the programmer will then be stored as the defaults for the tagged fixtures. If you simply select your fixtures and turn them on, you will now see them in their custom position. If you look at the Pan/Tilt grid, you will also see how they are no longer in the middle of the grid.

If you record the Default value using a palette, the default position will reference the palette, and therefore if you update the palette, the fixture's defaults will also update.

Hope this helps,

Edward

Hello,

Thanks a lot Edward,

I think this is something that will indeed help me.
Question
Is it when I record "record home", press at the same time on "Shift" will deactivate SmartTag? (like I do for cues recording ...)

Thanks for the help !

Eric

If you hold SHIFT and press RECORD, this will give you a snapshot - "Record All" is written in the command line to show you this. This will therefore turn SmartTag off, but it will record every fixture, and every parameter, irrespective of whether they're tagged or not.

Therefore doing this you would need to be careful to ensure all other fixtures are at the values you would like them to be in for their defaults. Whereas if you simply manually turn SmartTag off at the point of recording, only tagged information would be stored.

Hope this helps,

Edward
