Afx Posted June 20, 2019 Report Posted June 20, 2019 I’ll post my dumbness here. 1. No fade times on Flash? Any chance on having intensity bumps on go buttons with fadeout time? 2. Offset override seems weird. I can edit offset from waveforms quite alright but override with wheel seems to just ramp it to 0 every time. 3. Any option to spread out the colors of a moodboard across cmy/rgbw- fixtures? 4. Would be nice to get fx masters with an option to control fx speed, spread and ie pt speed separately. Or can I? 5. Sometimes switching between cue stacks with color effect on both sums the output through white, which is kinda bad sometimes. Does it just go through parameters from point a to b or is there some other logic behind I should know about? 6. Fanned ”sneak out”. Any way to do it? 7. Editing a cue. Any way to spy on information inside a cue not changing the output on stage? 8. Single shot fx. Lets say I want to put a color running through the venue- once. Cant find a way to limit the cycles or change spacing between the fx waves. 9. Center out fx. How? Very much relates to the above. Will post more after weekend is done. English is rusty as well, bare with me. Mostly I`m fairly surprised on how much this little thing can do. Quote
martin-144 Posted June 22, 2019 Report Posted June 22, 2019 Hi, very interesting questions indeed. Unfortunately I am not able to answer most of them, lets wait for the Zero88 guys. Regarding your question 7: There is "Blind Mode". You can access it by pressing Shift+Z Key. Then press and hold the go key of your desired playback and type the cue number while holding it. This takes you to the cue and you can edit without changes on stage. Use Update to save the changes. Press Z Key again to exit. Martin Quote
O Thompson Posted June 24, 2019 Report Posted June 24, 2019 Hi, I may be able to help with a couple... 7- Blind mode. view the PB with the cue stack you want to edit. Hold the flash button of the PB, and type the Q number you wish to view / edit. once you have finished editing, press update 8- Once a chase is created, you can hold "settings" and click on the flash button under the PB containing the chase. This will bring up the setting window for the PB. Click on the Chase tab, and you can chose the amount of "shots" that will take place when the fader is raised or the flash button held. Hope this helps a little Quote
Afx Posted June 24, 2019 Author Report Posted June 24, 2019 Cheers for the above, I know of the blind mode, moreso was Looking for a way to recall just the waveforms-view or so to check tagged parameters or to update values . Ed/Jon? Got more incoming too 😁 Quote
Afx Posted June 25, 2019 Author Report Posted June 25, 2019 The offset seems to crank the zero point of the offset as a whole, shift+offset wheel lets you fan parameters between fixtures. Although, it doesnt show the option or values anywhere... ltp catch and untagging color from fader seems to help somewhat the summing effect between stacks, although its not a perfect solution. Quote

Although, it doesnt show the option or values anywhere... If you do Setup+Position or Setup+Effect then you should get an options box that says what the Encoder does and what Shift+Encoder does. The reference fixture (or "zero point") will depend on the fan type - fan middle etc. But you're right, you don't get the values anywhere - although the value above the Encoder is going to be for the "master" or selected fixture. I'm really bad at this (as is evident from the number of times I ask "how do I get this fixture out of the cue" on this forum!)... But it will be along the lines of: Select the Group (to select the fixtures in the group) Update (and hold to get the Options window) SmartTag off Remove OK Quote

Although, I`d prefer a view-option that would show everything thats recorded inside a cue and simply removing an x from a box would take things off. Quote

Best I can think of is to use Preview in the Output Window. Then I think the colouring should show which fixtures have data in the cue or which track. This is at the fixture level though, so to see it at parameter level you'd need to select the fixture (not sure if you can in Preview) in order to get the "detail line". The colours are documented here: http://support.zero88.com/Legacy-Products/Legacy-Consoles/Legacy-ZerOS/ORB-XF/1011707591/What-does-the-Output-Window-show.htm Quote

Apologies for the delay in replying, I have been out of the office - normal service will now resume! A "spreadsheet" style Program Window that shows what is recorded into cues isn't currently available on FLX series consoles - this remains currently only on ORB or Solution consoles. Currently as Kevin says, if I have recorded fixtures into a cue accidentally, go into the cue, select the fixtures you don't want, and click HOME, tap UPDATE -> ensure SmartTag is disabled, and tap Remove. Then tap the playback's button to complete the command. HOME is pressed as a quick way of tagging those fixtures you don't want. On 6/20/2019 at 10:51 PM, Afx said: 1. No fade times on Flash? Any chance on having intensity bumps on go buttons with fadeout time? Fade times on Flash are currently only available on the Fade Up (using the cue time). For flash on fade up and down, the UDKs can be used. On 6/20/2019 at 10:51 PM, Afx said: 2. Offset override seems weird. Although, it doesnt show the option or values anywhere... As Kevin mentions, the default encoder behaviour for effects is Absolute, meaning when an encoder is adjusted, all selected fixtures are given the parameter value displayed above the encoder wheel. For the offset parameter, this therefore means you are offsetting all fixtures by the same amount, resulting in no visible offset across the fixtures. This is where you can hold SHIFT and dial the encoder to fan the fixtures - the parameter will display the value of the first selected fixture. If you want to see the fanned value you have given for each fixture, you can use the Next/Previous fixture shortcut, of SHIFT + LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys, or SHIFT + EXCEPT or AND. On 6/20/2019 at 10:51 PM, Afx said: 3. Any option to spread out the colors of a moodboard across cmy/rgbw- fixtures? There isn't an option to spread a mood board across your fixtures. You can however select a filter from a mood, jump to the colour picker, and then fan from this point in the colour spectrum. On 6/20/2019 at 10:51 PM, Afx said: 4. Would be nice to get fx masters with an option to control fx speed, spread and ie pt speed separately. Or can I? If you record an effect to a playback, you can configure the fader of the playback to control the effect, giving you both speed and size control. If you just want Speed control, you can use Speed Override, which will allow you to control the speed of the effect running in the currently viewed playback. On 6/20/2019 at 10:51 PM, Afx said: 5. Sometimes switching between cue stacks with color effect on both sums the output through white, which is kinda bad sometimes. Does it just go through parameters from point a to b or is there some other logic behind I should know about? Fader Controls will go from the fixture's current state, and allow you to fade through to the recorded state. White is often seen for LED fixtures, as the default for LED fixtures is the colour in white, so you fade from the defaults to the recorded colour. On 6/20/2019 at 10:51 PM, Afx said: 6. Fanned ”sneak out”. Any way to do it? Could you elaborate on this one? On 6/20/2019 at 10:51 PM, Afx said: 7. Editing a cue. Any way to spy on information inside a cue not changing the output on stage? As Kevin mentioned, I would use the Output Window's "Preview" mode for this, to show you information on the Next cue. On 6/20/2019 at 10:51 PM, Afx said: 8. Single shot fx. Lets say I want to put a color running through the venue- once. Cant find a way to limit the cycles or change spacing between the fx waves. This isn't currently available with effects - you would have to record an effect into a cue, and then have an auto-follow on cue afterwards that would stop the effect. Alternatively, you could record a chase. Chases have the Shots option to define the number of times the chase runs. On 6/20/2019 at 10:51 PM, Afx said: 9. Center out fx. How? Very much relates to the above. Hold SETUP + tap EFFECT. Hold SHIFT, and choose "Fan Middle" or "Fan V". Click OK, and then hold SHIFT and dial the Offset parameter. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any queries, or any more questions. Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
