Hello,

I am trying to program a playback that only contains intensity for a range of moving heads and no matter what option I select when recording it always includes position data in the playback. What I’d like to do is record intensity to a playback so I can preset my gobo/colour/movement etc. using the touch screen and then fade them in.

I have tried to only tag intensity from the options in the record window but this doesn’t seem to prevent position data being saved. I’m using an FLX S48 running ZerOS 7.9.4.

Thanks.

Hello,

If you just wish to store intensity, you’ll need to ensure SmartTag is disabled. To do this set your intensities to the levels you’d like them at using the channel faders, then press and hold RECORD, and from the Record Options tap SmartTag, so that is has a blue stripe in the button. This will mean only tagged information in the programmer will be stored, ignoring anything else. If you have other information in the programmer, you may then use the attribute buttons in the record options window to choose to not store any specific tagged attributes. You can then tap the playback you wish to store to. Now only tagged information will be recorded.

For more information on tagging, please see the article below...

Hope this helps, if you have any queries let me know.

Hi, I'm going to post this as a new topic too... but it is a sort of reply to what appears above. I too am fighting the FLX-S 48's tenedency to record all the parameters . Yes I have the idea of press and hold record to give some options! Please can we have a clear indication of whether a red / green / or blue  stripe means a parameter will or won't be recorded?

Personally I am trying to put position, beam, colour and intensity in seperate playbacks to allow the sort of manual busking I used to enjoy with desks like Sirius 250 (OK I'm old) but am defeated.

For information on the filters in the Record Options window, please see the link below...

OK. Will have another go now that page gives an indication of the stripe colour codes. I assume by 'selected' fixtures it means those with a yellow light on... this is an FLX-S not an FLX.... so I'm not keen on the 'type the following' kind of instruction shown.

As I never intend to use the cue stack type of operation, is there a way of getting rid of smart tag completely, so the LTP function of a playback stored parameter, or the HTP of an intensity one, can be brought up in any order?

That is correct. Selected fixtures are indicated with their buttons lit under the channel faders, and by orange circles in the Output window. More information here...

If you use the filter top right of the manual and choose your FLX S type, you should find the syntax example is now hidden

SmartTag can be disabled in the Record Options window, and will then remain disabled until you enable it again. When intensity parameters are played back from cues, they will by default mix with other playbacks with HTP behaviour. Colour, Beam, Shape and Position parameters will by default mix between the programmer and playbacks with LTP behaviour.

Intensity, Colour, Beam, Shape & Position parameters can however be configured to use "Soft LTP" mixing when recorded into playbacks. This means your playback fader will allow you to cross fade your parameters from their current levels when the fader is at 0, to the programmed values when the fader is at full.

To do this with Intensity, see the Latest Takes Precedence Intensity Mixing option, explained here...

https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/cues-playbacks/playback-settings/general#intensitymixing

For Colour, Beam, Shape, Position and Effect, see the "Fader Controls..." options...

https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/cues-playbacks/playback-settings/general#fadercontrols

I hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know.
