FLX ZerOS 7.9.5 - Weird Arrow Keys Behavior

Delete-0-Enter

Recommended Posts

After boot up the up/down arrow keys are operating the output window’s scroll bar instead of selecting the master playback’s next/ previous cues.

Switching to one of the other desktop layouts and then back to the Cues layout reenables the navigation through the cue list.

After that, the arrow keys’ cue list navigation function remains intact, no matter how often desktop layouts are switched.

This happens on our FLX with ZerOS 7.9.5 installed. Same behavior on PhantomZerOS 7.9.5 on a Windows 10 PC.

Anyone else experience this? Did I miss some setting in the Setup or something? Feels like a bug. Not a huge deal, but a bit annoying, especially if you consider selecting a cue is usually the first thing one does after the console has booted.

I’ve had this too just now. Couldn’t find a button that got me to cue stack control. Fortunately have a mouse attached on this occasion. I'm not sure how you get out of this issue if you don't have a mouse to click in the window. I couldn't find any buttons that helped out.

Edit: Cycling around the screens with the View button can get you control if you've no mouse attached. This is probably as Delete-0-Enter says with circling through the external monitor desktops.

Never had it on 7.9.4, but it happens on every startup of the console since the upgrade to 7.9.5

Since this was flagged here and I took notice, I pretty sure I'm in the "always on 7.9.5" - but if I think back to some of my 7.9.4 posting (which version had been on my desk for around a year), I did have some cue-stack-focus "snags" but I think that ended up being user-induced. I've been doing a show this past week or so, and I've have a full setup with mouse/keyboard/monitor, and I've been running the master cue stack from the start - so didn't initially realise this issue until it was raised here, after which point I always made sure I used the mouse to set the focus to the cue stack! However I sometimes have a "bare" config using just the console.

I hope Z88 can see this easily and sort it out!

Exactly. Circling through the desktop layouts Cues, Fader, CBPE and Groups Colour is the workaround I meant, either by multiple presses of the View button or clicks with the mouse/ your finger (if external touchscreen monitor attached)  on the layout buttons at the lower right of the screen.

By just clicking at something in the cue stack? Pretty sure that was what we tried first but didn't work - have to check that again when I'm back at the console.

Assuming I was currently outputting cue 1 (green bar) I click on "cue 3" with the mouse (external monitor) to move the next (orange) bar to cue 3 then "try" the up arrow to get to cue 2 for next.

I found the master go would sequence the stack as expected (hence I didn't spot this issue) although as described the arrow keys didn't have control of the next bar.

Hello Kevin

Off topic

Can you tell me more about what you use with your FLX ...
Mouse and keyboard ? External Touchscreen ?

What more practical use do you have with the mouse ?

Do you use several wings with your FLX?
Do you use a USB HUB if you have several things connected to the USB ports of your FLX?

thank you for your help

Eric

Hello,

This is logged on our system as issue reference ZOS-9415. This has come about due to the new desktops being implemented.

The quickest way of getting back to the cue stack on boot, is to press VIEW, then SHIFT + VIEW, if you don't have a mouse/touch screen connected.

If you have any queries let us know.

Sad this didn't get fixed in ZerOS 7.9.8. ☹️

After resetting the console, currently the active window is the Output window. To focus onto the Cues window on the external monitor if you don't have a mouse or touchscreen connected, jump into the playback's settings and then click OK. Your arrow keys will navigate the Cues window.

Or, coincidentally, use the syntax DELETE 0 ENTER.
