question about setup

Hello,

I need some clarification about erasing and resetting "clear option" on setup

What is the difference between "Reset Desk / Factory Reset"?

When I record a Show, is there also a recording of fixtures and DMX implemention on Chanel fader?

In fact my problem is that I go with fixtures with a recorded show on Saturday in room 1, have Sunday play in room 2 with other fixtures and other show, and on Monday I go back to room 1, with the fixtures and show of Saturday ...

Do I need to manually reconfigure all fixtures / DMX layout?

thanks for the help

PS : On the last show, I ve have many times ghost returns with  touching FLX and having chanel "on" with "light on" stage  also...

thank

From my usage, Reset Desk will remove all cues and fixture patches ("the show") but leave any user fixture profiles in the desk. I use this between productions.

Factory Reset will remove any user fixture profiles and return the desk to factory defaults - rental companies would use this when the desk came back from a hire.

These clear options are clarified in the 7.9.5 beta candidates we're testing at the moment. On 7.9.4 and earlier there are a few more options, that confused me too...!

With your two shows (room 1 and room 2), the specific fixture and DMX setup will be saved in the showfile so you shouldn't need to do any manual reconfiguration, just reload the showfile from USB.

Hope that helps!

Kevin

Hi Eric,

As Kevin says, a Reset Desk clears all show information, leaving your Setup configurations such as which protocols you use, and your user preferences. A Factory Reset clears all of these, leaving only the Fixture Library in the console. The "Clear All" option in Setup clears all programming, leaving your patch.

Show files will store all patch information. Therefore you should be able to have a separate show file for each show and simply load them in.

thank you for your help.

I summarize :

Show 1:
I make the fixture patch, record the cues. At the end I record my show on the USB key.
I do "reset desk" to erase everything except the fixtures library (I indeed 3 or 4 personal fixtures)

Show 2:
I start from zero for my show 2.
I do all fixture patch and Cues recording.
Once finished, erases all "reset desk"

Back show 1
I get the show 1 on the USB key and everything comes back in order ...

Saving show :

I always used to name shows with the date.
and especially during shows, I save my work several times with different version numbers. So if I had a crash, I will not have to start all over again ....

Auxiliary question ...
Regarding my "phantom lights", I can not understand why sometimes I have nothing during a whole show, and that on another show I can have in 2 hours, several times, a fader that will activate without that I touch (the led on) and the projector on scene that will turn on at 30% as sometimes 70%, without me doing anything or touch anything ... This forces me to be very vigilant because in a dance show, a white projector that light up on a dark blue atmosphere, it's very annoying ... As if someone was inside the console to turn on a circuit ...

take care

If channel faders are left up at random levels, the slightest movement can cause the fixture to select, not change the intensity. This will be fixed in ZerOS 7.9.5.

However fixtures changing intensity randomly without control is not an issue we have come across.

Next time this happens, please let me know which channel number. What is the current fader function? What is that fixture's channel fader level at? What is its intensity in the Output Window? Does it match the output? What colour is the value displayed in?

Any queries let me know.

Yes in my case, I am for example recording hands on my legs, and without me doing anything, the LED of fader 12 (without moving) will light and on the screen I see a percentage that has passed from Zero to 33% for example and on stage the corresponding projector was lit ...
A few minutes later, I can have the LED of Fader 33 that will light (always without any action on my part) and that will indicate on the screen an intensity of 70% and of course the spotlight on stage is lit at 70%.
This happens more or less depending on the moment but for the moment I have had it by chance only during rehearsals and not during shows ...
But sometimes it is done more often (several times per hour) and other times never ...
I will try to photograph that ...

Hi Eric,

A photo/video of it happening would be really useful. You may find it easier to email it, if so please send to support@zero88.com.

What physical level is the fader at? Is it at the bottom of its travel?

Do you have the Remote connection enabled on the console? Do you have a USB keyboard connected - if so do things get placed on the keyboard?

Yes I will try to do that to do video or photo.

I will try to explain better.

So I'm in rehearsal.

I have my hands off the console.

(My Console is on 7.9.4, having One year, with Two Wings extension, two universe and touching monitor, nothing more)

And without doing anything, the "GO" button of a fader lights up and on the screen I see the window "programming view" that the number of the GO button in relation to the Fader is selected and that the intensity value that was zero has gone all alone to 30 or 40. And at the same time the corresponding projector on scene is lit.
So I go as fast as possible on the Fader of the channel in question to mount the bland and go down to put the value to zero! and find the normal state of things.

thank for your help...

Is it possible that there is a matériel problems, because this strange thing come on fews days after my first use...?

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the further information.

From this description it could be a hardware issue. I would recommend contacting axente which is probably your most convenient Zero 88 distributor. They will be able to take a look at the console and see if there is an issue. Their details can be found here...

Hope this helps. If you have any queries or issues just let me know.

Thank

I Buy my console on Thomann (Germany)

My problem is that I can not do without the FLX until mid July because I have shows every week and no console, no shows ... so no money ... And I do not think that Thomann be able to lend one ...
My other solution "not immediate" is to buy a second FLX, to have a help, but I will not be able to do it either ...
So I'm a bit stuck ...

Thank

Eric

Hi Eric,

Please send us an email to support@zero88.com (you can simply link to this forum thread), and we'll then be able to direct you in the best route possible.

Another thing that is worth trying - when not using the Channel Faders, try changing the fader function to Playbacks. Does the issue still happen?

Olé,

Thank you for your message.

Yesterday and the day before yesterday on the show where I worked I did not have any worries at all. But as I said sometimes, everything is fine and sometimes in 1 or 2 hours, I have several times the concern "ghosts" mentioned above.

I think it's actually the easiest thing for me to pray that I can finish my season this way, (8/9 July) and so be able to send the console to Thomann, and explain the problem with maybe the copies of our discussions.
As they can understand that it is a random failure, unpredictable, so to consider a solution.
I will write you on the support to talk more precisely, especially that my desire is to know the FLX and make the Pub to give the opportunity to type structures Theater to go on a console that is easy to use. ..

Thanks for your help.
