Chase Speed

Recommended Posts

After converting a simple playback (adjusting only dimmer intensities) into a chase, we want it to run at the programmed times. Manual tells us to set the chase speed  to zero .(p.18) However, I cannot set the speed to zero, it always returns to '1bmp'.
(As I understand it, you also haveo to set face percentage to 100%).

Hello,

If you would like the steps of your chase to fade, you will need to adjust the cross fade intensity percentage for the chase, not the cue fade times. They are purely there for if you revert the chase back to a normal cue stack. The Chase Settings can be accessed by holding SETUP, and tap your chase’s button.

Also in the chase settings you can define a BPM of 0-600. If you don’t want your defined BPM to change, I’d recommend changing the playback button function. You can do that in the General playback settings, where you can tap “Tap Tempo” to disable the button overriding your defined BPM speed.

Hope this helps,

Hello,

I may have been unclear, but I want the chase to follow the different fade times as defined in the individual cues before the automatic conversion to a chase, not to fade them all in the same time. The problem is that I am unable to set the speed to zero, while the manual states:

"When the Speed is set to zero, the chase runst according to the delay and fade times that are programmed into each step (cue) in the chase"  (Flx s24 manual, version 7.8.3)

The manual then goes on with what happens is the zero is not set to zero, which is, what I think, the procedure you clarified for me.

So my question remains: is there something wrong with my desk, with the way i handle it, or is the manual excplaining an procedure that actually doesn't exist?

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for your clarification. Apologies, it appears that this information in the manual is incorrect as per ZerOS 7.9.4 (which is the current release software for FLX S). To instead allow your cues to run automatically using the cue timings you defined, you'll need to revert the playback from a chase back to a normal cue stack. This can be done from the playback settings, under the Chase tab. When you have done this, you can then go into the cue settings for each cue within the playback, and configure automatic timings.

For more information on this, take a look at the article below...

Hope this helps, if you have any queries let me know.
