How to make a Strobe effect on FLX S24?

Having many LED spots without a real shutter/strobe channel but I need to make a good strobe effect.

Have tried the "Chaser" effect and it is working - but it is not as fast and "sharp" as I would like my strobe to be.

Any suggestions how to get a better strobe with a FLX S24?

My RGBW spots have 4 channels each and my Hex spots have 7 channels (RGBAWUV+dimmer)

Hi Carpo,

Chaser is the best effect to use for a standard strobe. You can then speed it up to suit. You can then customise it by configuring Size and Offset values across the fixtures. If you’d like the fixture to spend more time on, use a Mark On effect, and if you’d like the fixtures to spend more time off, use a Mark Off.

When dealing with quick strobe effects, you may find you get to a certain speed where it will start to get messy. This is due to the refresh rate of the DMX signal and the fixtures themselves recieving it- if they miss one of the “on” or “off” messages, it doesn’t look as clean or sharp as you may want. This is why having a dedicated strobe channel on a fixture comes in handy.

Hope this helps, any queries let me know.

Great - will stay with the Chaser effect.

Was around the Mark Off effect before I tried to write on the forum - but it is too slow for me 🙂

No problem.

Just let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.
