Hi Zero Team,

Today I did my first test with the new Apple Watch feature and I love it :-)

But there seems to be one issue:
If the Phone gets locked (either by timeout or because I want to put it in my Pocket), the Watch app can’t do a RemDim or Highlight anymore. I can scroll through my channels, but not interact with them.
After the Phone gets unlocked again, everything is working again.

Is this common and known behavior or is there something I can do against it?
Because I would not love to have my iPhone unlocked laying around in the venue
😉

My Setup:
- Apple Watch Gen. 2
- iPhone Xs
- ORB XF

Thanks and best regards

Hi Sven,

Unfortunately due to the way iOS handles network communications to and from Apple Watch, iPhone has to remain unlocked in order to use the Watch App.

You should find that when using the ZerOS Remote app iPhone will not lock automatically to prevent this being an issue.

There is a button that allows you to "Hide UI" within the app once you are connected to a console. If you are not happy to leave your iPhone unlocked in the venue, you can press this button and put your phone in your pocket without buttons accidentally being pressed, and then use the Watch app.

Any queries let me know.

Unfortunately this is one of the reasons we were so delayed in releasing the Apple Watch app - we had to completely redesign how the app worked when Apple made the change Edward explains. As long as the console, phone and watch are on the same wireless network, they don't have to be near each other - so you can keep your phone in your bag / hidden away if you're going up a ladder / into the roof (and the "hide UI" button will ensure no buttons are accidentally pressed whilst it's there).

Hi Zero Team,

Last week I was testing de Apple Watch app, But there seems to be one issue.

When I connect my iPhone8 to the desk (LeapFrog48) the Apple Watch keeps telling me "Please use the zerOS Remote app on your phone to connect to a console".

My Setup:
- Apple Watch Gen. 1
- iPhone8
- LeapFrog48

What am I doing wrong?

Best regards,

Rick

Hi Rick,

That’s interesting thanks for letting us know. Have you tried closing the ZerOS Watch app and reopening? On Apple Watch this is done by opening the app, and then hold the Side button until you see the power off options, and then hold the Digital Crown. You will then find the app closes, where you can try reopening. With your iPhone 8 connected to your Leapfrog, do available generic channels then appear on the Watch?

Any queries let me know.

Hi Rick,

OK thanks for letting us know. Can you confirm the software version on your Leapfrog?

You can find the software version by tapping Other Windows found top left of the Output Window, then choose System Information from the drop down.

In here will be a line of text displaying Software Version. ZerOS 7.9.4 is available from our website, which is compatible with Apple Watch. ZerOS 7.9.4 can be downloaded here...

If you aren’t running this software I would recommend updating, and then try again.

Hope this helps, any queries let me know.
