ncab500 Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Hi, Our FLX never keeps the time on shutdown it was bought around 2015, would the cause to this be the internal battery? if so is it user serviceable? Cheers Quote
Edward Z88 Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Hello, Yes that is correct, FLX uses an internal CR2032 3v coin cell battery for the clock. This is a quick and easy replacement, if you feel happy you can open the console up yourself. If your console is still within warranty, you may want to get this replaced under warranty by your chosen Zero 88 distributor. If you would like access instructions or would like to see if your console is still in warranty, please drop us an email to support@zero88.com, along with your console's serial number. Any queries let me know. Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
kgallen Posted December 16, 2018 Report Posted December 16, 2018 Hi Edward, Could you write a short KB article on replacing the internal battery on FLX - specifically which screws need removing, and any other tricks to access the battery (ribbon cables etc!). I'm not in this position yet, but as my FLX is now just over 3 years old it might be a job I need to attend to at short notice... Thanks, Kevin Quote

Edward Did the battery replacement article ever get written? I’m starting to get NVRAM errors on my 5 year old FLX. I see the manual confirms what screws to remove but not the innards. Ian Quote
Edward Z88 Posted June 12, 2022 Report Posted June 12, 2022 Hi Ian, Access information is available here… https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/mechanical-89/flx-access-instructions Once you have opened the console, you’ll see the CR2032 coin cell battery in a holder on the processor PCB in the base of the console. Replace this for a fresh battery, observing polarity. Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
