LisaEkbom Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 Hello. I work with a flx and have 40 cues in a playback on master playback. The problem is that if I have to raise any fixture (in addition to the programmed cue) and then lower it that fixture stays at 0% even if it is programmed in a cue later on. How do I make the settings so I can control playbacks and channels separate? Quote
Edward Z88 Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 Hello, On FLX S consoles, the console's "programmer" has the highest priority. Therefore when you move a channel fader, you bring that channel's intensity into the programmer, where it has the highest priority over all cues. To clear out these high-priority values, indicated in red in the Output Window, you'll need to tap CLEAR, to ensure the CLEAR button isn't lit. Doing this will instantly remove these red values, however a fade time can be applied to this to make it more subtle. This is done by enabling Programmer Time, found on the fourth encoder wheel in the Z window. There is no way to mix channel faders and playbacks with highest takes priority behaviour. I have however logged your request on our software tracking system, so that we may look to implement this functionality in future. If you have any queries, please let me know. LisaEkbom Posted September 25, 2018 Author Report Posted September 25, 2018 Ok, but can I mix channel fader and playbacks in some other way, with other settings? I don't really get the tracking and highest takes priority settings. Can I go around it in some way or is it totally impossible to mix them? Quote
Erics Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 If you have only dimmer channels you can patch any dimmer to a playback fader with a 100% intensity value as one Cue. Than you can mix it with HTP. And the playback will be released if you put the fader to 0%. (Depending of your fader settings). Quote I use: Zero 88 FLX S48 / ETC ColorSource 40 / GLP Creation 4096 / Chamsys MQ70 / Madrix

So I can mix different playbacks and they do not affect the output of the following cues? It's a solution that needs a lot of work, but if that's what I have to do maybe it's worth it. Quote
Edward Z88 Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Hello, 2 hours ago, LisaEkbom said: So I can mix different playbacks and they do not affect the output of the following cues? By default, playback intensity information will mix Highest Takes Precedence (HTP) and Colour, Beam and Position will mix Latest Takes Precedence (LTP). Therefore as Erics suggests, if you are just dealing with dimmers you could record each one to its own individual playback, to allow you to mix the dimmer's playbacks with the recorded cues with HTP behaviour. Hope that helps, any queries let me know. Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
