USB Show Save/Load Issue

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have just updated a Leapfrog 48 however it fails to recognise USB sticks.

If you restore desk to factory it will read the stick once but then fails to see it again.

Have reformatted sticks and tried different ones, all which worked fine in previous firmware.

Any help available?

Thanks in advance.

Hi sabah69,

Strange. What make, model and size of USB stick are you using?

Try doing a Factory Restore, save the empty showfile to the USB stick, unplug the USB stick, plug it back in, and then try loading that "empty" showfile back into the console.

Now try loading something else. Does that work?

We've just had the same problem. Updated to latest OS a couple of weeks ago, now it fails to recognise the USB drive in any of the USB sockets.

Help!

If we do a factory restore will it wipe out all of the fixtures?

Leapfrog96 with 7.9.4

USB stick is the Zero88 branded one that came with the desk. Have tried other USB sticks (FAT32) and it doesn't read those either. Have also tried plugging the mouse into the front panel USB but the mouse still works OK.

Also tried copying the .isf files from the USB stick (for safety), reformatting the USB and then copying just one .isf back to it. Still not recognised by the desk.
Is there a way to backup our fixtures? We have a big show at the weekend. This couldn't have happened at a worse time :(

Hello,

With the USB stick unplugged, tap "Other Windows", found top left of the Output Window, and from the drop down choose System Info, then tap System Info. At the bottom of this screen you should see a section labelled "USB devices...". Looking at this section, plug the USB stick in, do you see any change? If so the console is detecting the USB stick.

Then tap SETUP -> Save Show -> tap Refresh after 10 seconds, do you now see "Removable Device" appear in Destination Device?

Let me know how you get on.

Edward

Thanks Edward.
I followed the steps and the device does appear in the USB devices list when plugged in. Hitting Refresh on the Load/Save pages does nothing: still says <No Destination Devices>

Hi Sandy,

OK thanks for letting me know. Did you try Jon’s suggestion...

Neil tried out our latest beta version, which I believe solved the problem. I haven’t heard from him recently though.

Just to confirm, are you finding if you Factory Reset the console, you can read USB storage devices ok, but as soon as you start programming the console USB devices don’t appear?

Any queries let me know.

Hi Edward

Just tried Jon’s suggestion and it all seemed ok until I did some programming.

When going to save on the same usb it couldn’t be found.

I hadn’t removed the stick, and it was recognised and loading previous shows up to that point.

cheers

Sandy

Hi Sandy,

OK thanks for trying that.

If you’re happy to, please send me an email to EdwardSmith@Eaton.com, and I’ll be able to arrange getting you access to the latest beta software. This should solve the problem, and greatly improve the performance of your Leapfrog 96.

Alternatively you can of course wait until ZerOS 7.9.5 is released.

Any queries let me know.

Edward
