Peter6442peter Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 Hi I purchased a flx s48 on Wednesday tried it today and just plugged a couple of generic lights into a dimmer and the faders on the desk don't work with the lights the display is only showing the save button and the groups button. The output button, Cue list window and the playback window are missing It will allow me into the set up window but have not touched anything there incase I make matters worse. HELP Quote
Edward Z88 Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 Hi Peter, It sounds like your FLX S48 is running an early software version. You can check the software version by tapping Z / Shift, and then System Information. It sounds like it’s running software ZerOS 7.9.2.60. The latest software is ZerOS 7.9.4, available to download from our website here... http://zero88.com/forum/files/file/17-zeros-794/ In ZerOS 7.9.2.60, the External Monitor is Enabled by default, meaning the Outputs, Cues and Faders windows are displayed on the External monitor rather than the internal touchscreen. Therefore I would recommend installing the new software, that changes this, along with bringing new features and many enhancements. However you can manually access these windows in the internal touchscreen, by tapping SETUP -> System Settings -> External Monitor -> Disabled. By default FLX S consoles will not be patched, unless your dimmer has something called RDM, such as our Betapack 3 or Chilli dimmers. Therefore you’ll need to patch your dimmers into the console, to assign each dimmer channel to a fader. Do this by tapping SETUP -> Add Fixture’s -> Next -> Tap Channel buttons 1 onwards for each dimmer channel, and tap Finish. You can then tap SETUP, and use the channel faders to control your dimmer. Hope that helps, any queries let me know. Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support

Peter6442peter Posted April 13, 2018 Author Report Posted April 13, 2018 Hi Ed Got 20 Chauvet Rado 1 tour art+d 5 chanel led's. I go to put in Quantity it will only allow me to put in 2 won't allow me to put in fixture number and will not allow me to change the Dmx address Peter Quote
Edward Z88 Posted April 13, 2018 Report Posted April 13, 2018 Hi Peter, Can you confirm that’s crashing on ZerOS 7.9.4? Is it always crashing when trying to patch? Is it the same thing you’re doing at the point of crashing, if so could you give instructions on how to recreate? Hope to get you back up and running as soon as possible. Peter6442peter Posted April 13, 2018 Author Report Posted April 13, 2018 No it's the original software. It crashes at the same point. When I try to put 20 fixtures in the 1st field then it won't allow me to tell it where I want the fixture or the address. Then it crashes. I've tapped the full 96 channels don't know whether that's got anything to do with it. Need to be up and running by Monday. Happy with playback and the stack First fixtures tried to get going Quote
Edward Z88 Posted April 13, 2018 Report Posted April 13, 2018 Hi Peter, We found a couple of issues with patching that in some circumstances cause the console to crash. These issues were fixed early on, and the latest software for FLX S is ZerOS 7.9.4, available to download from our website here... http://zero88.com/forum/files/file/17-zeros-794/ If you install that, you should find this solves the issue, along with bringing new features and enhancements to the FLX S. Any queries let me know. Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
Peter6442peter Posted April 13, 2018 Author Report Posted April 13, 2018 Thanks Ed will try again tomorrow. Thanks for your patience. And help at this late hour Pete Quote
Peter6442peter Posted April 14, 2018 Author Report Posted April 14, 2018 Hi Ed Done the upgrade all seems to be working well with one fixture am putting the 20 other fixtures in now. But what does patch offset 6 min mean Quote
kgallen Posted April 14, 2018 Report Posted April 14, 2018 Means your fixtures take 6 DMX addresses each so you have to space them at least 6 addresses apart. You could set this higher if you like, say you like them addressed every 10 addresses set the offset to 10. Quote
