Hi John,

I'm having trouble updating ZerOS on our new FLXS console.

I've created a USB stick showing:-

Folder "install"

File: "6q_bootscript"

But when I try loading it from the load file option on the FLXS, there's nothing showing on the USB stick.  I've tried two USB sticks and pressing the refresh button on the FLXS, but still the files are not there.  Put the USB stick back into the PC and they're there on the drive.

Any ideas?

Hi John/Ed,

Please bear with me as I probably have this wrong.

I was looking to update my software to ZerOS 7.9.4.  On the link above, namely - zero88.com/software/zeros  I was hoping to download the console software and the Phantom OS 7.9.4 software for my PC. I do a lot of programming away from home on a PC and visualiser hence the requirement for both.  I am currently operating 7.9.2 and the two .exe files used for that are Console - ZerOS 7.9.2 (USB Installer - 86MB)  and PC - Phantom ZerOS 7.9.2 (PC emulator).

Now for the part that is confusing me.  When I go to the link both the console and Phantom software is the same link and titled ZerOS_7.9.4.zip (87.6MB).  If I try to install this to the PC I get the prompt to load this on a USB device but I want to obviously load it on my 'C' drive.

I would be grateful if you can please advise what I am getting wrong please chaps....??

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mac,

The link below contains the ZerOS 7.9.4 software file, Phantom ZerOS, and the release notes.

http://zero88.com/forum/files/file/17-zeros-794/

Therefore after downloading this you should find Phantom ZerOS, that you’ll be able to extract and run on your PC, will update Phantom from 7.9.2, and you’ll be able to extract the software file to the root of a USB stick, for you to load into your FLX and run the update to ZerOS 7.9.4.

Hope that helps, any queries let me know.

I am new to Zero88 ZerOS. We have a Solution which appears still be using 7.8.2.36. Do I need to load the intermediate versions or can I jump straight to the most recent? Also, at RGS we are all Mac base. Do I need to locate an up to date windows machine or will your update load perfectly well via an Apple Mac?

Hello,

To install ZerOS 7.9.4 from ZerOS 7.8.2.36, you will need to create a bootable USB stick, which can only be done on a Windows machine. To do this download ZerOS 7.9.4 from our website, and extract the zipped files...

Then run the ZerOS 7.9.4 USB OS Creator software on a Windows PC, preferably running Windows 7 with admin rights. This will run an installation wizard, that will ask you to plug an empty USB stick into your PC to format. After completing, remove the USB stick from your PC, and plug into your Solution. Then turn the Solution on, and after around a minute you should see a screen on the external monitor to install ZerOS 7.9.4. Do this, and once complete switch off the console, unplug the USB stick, and then reboot. As with all software updates, all information stored on the console will be removed, so make sure you have a saved copy of your show file first if you wish to load it back into the new software. There is a useful video below, that guides you through the big software changes from ZerOS 7.8.2.36 to ZerOS 7.9.2 and later...

Once you are on this software version, future software updates can be done by simply loading software updates into the console.

Hope that helps, if you have any queries let me know.

Hi Edward, I successfully, I thought, updated to ZerOS 7.9.4. However, now that I come to trying to plot and run show cues via the Master Go button, I cannot get cues to run. The Go button if I am lucky will load a cue but not run it. I can make the fader above the Go button advance through the cue stack but it will fade to a black out before bringing up the next state. Once a cue is loaded, If I press the Go button, nothing happens. Any ideas? I get the feeling it is something in Setup but have not found out what yet. It is a Solution desk.

Many thanks

Hi Simon,

This sounds as though the Fader Function of the Master Playback is configured to be "Manual Fade (1-way)". To change this setting, hold SETUP + tap the Master Playback's Go button, and in the settings you will probably see Manual Fade 1-way has a red stripe next to it. Select HTP Master, and then click OK. You should then find the Fader sets the intensity level of your cues, and the GO button advances through them.

Hope that helps, any queries let me know.

Hi Edward,

I have done that and it now works, although when I first clicked OK it still did nothing. After turning the desk off and back on again it seems like it works.

I did think that I had tried HTP master as an option earlier though!

Thank you

Simon
