Colour mixing with generics...

Hi

As I've said before on here, our school currently does not have any intelligent fixtures. I was wondering if you had just three normal generics, one with a red, one with a green, and one with a blue gel - could you use these at different combinations of brightness levels to produce a number of colours on the stage?

 

Would it work or would it look a mess?

Ok, so now i understand the science and theory a bit better, do u think using the three primary gels at different brightnesses would actually be able to produce different colours (perhaps using some 743s)?
