SimonH
Hi, is it possible to get a third dmx out from the desk to run a third universe? Thanks, Simon
Edward Z88
Hi Simon, Yes it is, with the use of a DMX Ethernet Gateway, such as our 1 Universe Ethernet box... http://zero88.com/products/control/ethernetbox/index.shtml You would then output sACN or Art-Net Ethernet protocols from the FLX into a Gateway to give you additional universes. Hope that helps Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
SimonH
Hi Edward, thanks for this it's exactly what I'm after. Can this be used from a laptop should the desk fail?
Edward Z88
Hi Simon, Yes this can be connected to a laptop, to allow your PC to become a standalone lighting controller. To do so you would need to be running PhantomZerOS on the laptop, with a Phantom Unlock dongle... http://zero88.com/products/consoles/index.shtml#scd http://zero88.com/forum/files/file/1-zeros-793/ Hope that helps, any queries let me know Edward Quote Edward Smith Product Specialist Email Support
SimonH
getting better! Can this all be routed through a general network or does it have to be dedicated?
Edward Z88
Hi Simon, Ideally it needs to be on its own dedicated network. As a side note, FLX shouldn't be connected to the Internet. I have a technical network set up which enables me to talk to both my lighting and sound desks but also lets me receive emails and calls as there is no mobile coverage on the edge of a cliff. Jon Hole
Some of the networking protocols are bandwidth-heavy and include limitations that are acceptable due to ZerOS being designed for use on a dedicated lighting network. Eaton have strict Cyber Security requirements for products designed to live online. ZerOS is not one of these products.
