Ok, so finally got my hands on the FLX S24!

Got stuck on the first part, Using Patch Wizard. How do I make the keyboard appear when trying to enter the DMX address or quantity of fixtures ?

Hi Jon,

Hope you like the new console! Patching Fixtures is done within the Setup menu, using “Add Fixtures”. You may have found “Patch Wizard” within the Quick Access Functions menu when you press “Z”. This is an older style method of adding fixtures that requires an external keyboard.

To access Add Fixtures Tap SETUP, then Add Fixtures from the left hand side, and then pick your fixture. When you press Next-> you’ll then see an onscreen number pad.

Hope that helps, any queries let me know.

Kind regards

Edward

Hi Edward,

When you say 'Older', you mean bug? Why would older style features be available on a brand new desk? Patch wizard is one of the tools listed on the data sheet, and is also on display on the quick access screen 'another feature that helps you use FLX S'

Surly, a novice user would naturally use the Patch Wizard to patch their fixtures for the first time?

I have found some other 'Older' bits too.

Hi Jon,

On FLX S, we streamlined the patching process to make it much quicker and simpler than other ZerOS consoles. We're about to expand this even further by adding Search, Offsets and Universe overviews in the next software release.

The change in name from "Patch Wizard" to "Add Fixtures" was a relatively last minute change based on user feedback, as they saw this phrase to be much more clear to novice users. The manuals, videos, Guidance etc all point to using SETUP > Add Fixtures.

However, you're right - within the Z button is an option that we missed when doing that last minute change to improve the console, and we have fixed that in the latest beta.

Hope this makes sense,

Jon
