Just wanted to send my condolences to the family, friends and Zero88 colleagues of Paul McEwan, who died this past weekend. Despite only meeting Paul for the first time exactly one year ago, he made a lasting impression, with his enthusiasm for the products he demonstrated, his technical support and his smile. I suddenly found a kindred spirit when I spoke to him of my obsession with Vari-Lite. When personally delivering my repaired FLX to my house, he viewed my Vari-Lite museum pieces with excitement and shared his stories of the time he worked on them in the 1980's. I am truly devastated at the loss of such a genuinely nice guy so soon.

It is sad news indeed and I'd like to add my condolences to his family and his "family" at Zero88.

I only met Paul very briefly once at a PLASA show and I do know that all his Zero88 family got on with him very well and they will be reeling from this in the same way Paul's family must be. Sad days :(

Hi John and Ian,

Thank you - we appreciate your words, and we'll ensure they get passed onto the family. We're assembly a book of messages and photos to pass onto Paul's family to remind them how treasured Paul was within our industry.
