dryoki Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 I'm coming from a Strand LBX to a Bullfrog and can't seem to figure out how, if possible to "capture" a fixture and possibly roll it out with a wheel control. specifically, with a submaster up, pick one fixture and roll it out quickly, but not abruptly. during a show. also, is it possible to change the channel to dimmer patch menu (super user menu(manual patch)) so that it lists by dimmer instead of by channel? K-Nine Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Not quite sure I follow the terminology here, what do you mean by "roll it out" with a control wheel :? Quote K-Nine : Technically Advanced Roving Dog In Space Bran Media | Myspace
Paul Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Fixture brightnesses are mixed HTP (Highest Takes Precedence) on the Frog series desks. Therefore if a fixtures brightness is being output from a submaster, it can't be overridden with the wheels, since the 'virtual presets' controlled by the brightness wheel are mixed HTP with the Submasters and Playback X. A 'topset' function to achieve the same result has been discussed elsewhere on the forum, and is on the list for review in future software updates. Use the search tool to look for topset if you want to see these discussions. One option might be to edit the fixture personality (offline tools available for download on the main Zero88 website) to define the fixture brightness as an LTP mixed channel. You'd then be able to take control of it at any time on the wheels to bring the level down. Quote
dryoki Posted April 2, 2004 Author Report Posted April 2, 2004 Sorry, I'm a sound guy learning lights. "Roll it out" as in decrease the brightness of a fixture via the wheel. On our old desk you could select a fixture by keying it in on the keypad, which automatically let you use the wheel to control the brightness, (the wheel took precedence until you deselected it). Thank you to Paul for the info, I'll try the other discussions and the offline tools as well. Quote
