robhurt Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 Hello Everyone! If I want to create a chase in the middle of my cue stack, do I create the chase in another playback and then somehow copy it into my main cue stack, or do I create it within the cue stack I want it in? Rob Quote
Jon Hole Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 Hi Rob, You create the chase on a separate playback, and then use a "macro" to trigger and release it during your cues. On the cue you want to trigger the chase, go to the "Cue Settings" cell and press Enter. Now choose "Macros", choose "Add" next to trigger, and select the chase. Click OK on both windows. On the cue you want to release the chase (it might be the next cue, or several cues later), do exactly the same, but choose "Add" next to release instead, and select the same chase. Eek that sounds confusing! I'll give it a whirl! Wish me luck! Rob Quote
Jon Hole Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 It's very easy to do, a little harder to explain! Quote Jon Hole Global Product Manager, Systems and Control
robhurt Posted February 11, 2016 Author Report Posted February 11, 2016 It's very easy to do, a little harder to explain! I'll let you know how I get on then Presumably the main cues run as well as the chase? Quote
Jon Hole Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 What I've described above is exactly the same as physically pushing the other fader up over the fade up time, and then brining it back down over the fade down time. So as long as the main cues run when you do that, they will when you add the chase in as described above. (The reason I'm not definitely saying yes, is there are all sorts of options you could select that will make all sorts of strange things happen!) SimonH Posted September 27, 2016 Report Posted September 27, 2016 Hi Rob, You create the chase on a separate playback, and then use a "macro" to trigger and release it during your cues. On the cue you want to trigger the chase, go to the "Cue Settings" cell and press Enter. Now choose "Macros", choose "Add" next to trigger, and select the chase. Click OK on both windows. I've tried this and the chase works but isn't triggered by the macro in the main cue stack. Quote
Jon Hole Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Hi SimonH, Can you email me the showfile and I'll take a look and get it working for you. Jon Quote Jon Hole Global Product Manager, Systems and Control
SimonH Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 Hi SimonH, Can you email me the showfile and I'll take a look and get it working for you. Jon Hi Jon I have created a simple chase as per the instuctions and put the trigger and release on cues in the main stack. The chase works when triggered on playback 1 but not when running the main cue stack. File attached. Simon simple chase.isf Quote
