Hi everyone, this is my first post so I hope it's all alright.

I've never used a ZerOS console before. The only Zero88 desks I've used are the Jester range and the older Frog range. I've recently saved up and bought myself a second hand Leap Frog 48 console. I updated it to ZerOS 7.7 and I'm absolutely loving it! It's a fantastic experience.

I do however have one problem. I'm not sure if it's an actual problem or wether I'm just too unfamiliar with the OS, but the desk remembers absolutely nothing. When I switch off the desk, even if it remains connected to a PSU and I reboot instantly, it forgets everything. This ranges from basic things like submasters & memories to more annoying things like all previously assigned fixtures and unique user settings (such as mapping universes to the DMX outputs, enabling remote, changing the colourscheme to "ORB" etc).

I tried saving a show after creating a couple of submasters, but the desk couldn't find a location to store any of the data. The only time it would allow me to save anything is if I inserted a USB stick, but even then I'm not 100% sure if all of the unique user settings get saved with the show? It's as if it can't see it's own internal memory.

I'm not sure if it's the internal battery, simply because the clock stays in time, and the desk behaves like this even while connected to power.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks a lot,

Tom

Try swapping the battery first, the internal RAM runs off the battery which is where all the patch tables and show files are kept.

The RTC is likely on a separate chip with it's own internal supply so may not be affected. The internal battery is easy enough (and cheap enough) to try first of all - so I'd do that and see what happens.
