coombesy85 Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 I have 4 minimacs, channels 49, 59, 69 and 79 - and two smoke machine slinked. I have set these to channel 89 (dip switches 1,4,5 & 7?) But the Fat Frog doesn't seem to control them when I assign channel 89 to Fader 48. BTW, it is a rosco 1700 smoke machine with rosco DMX remote. Quote
K-Nine Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 Do you have any more information on the DMX control of the smoke machine ? Would I be correct in assuming that it is controlled by a single DMX channel ? If this is the case then you should be able to control it with the preset fader representing desk channel 48 (patched to DMX channel 89). The desk will need to be in Wide mode Quote K-Nine : Technically Advanced Roving Dog In Space Bran Media | Myspace
coombesy85 Posted February 3, 2004 Author Report Posted February 3, 2004 TBH I wouldnt know, but I think it is. So you simply have the fader on full for full output, or low for low output. Quote
coombesy85 Posted February 3, 2004 Author Report Posted February 3, 2004 I have just thought, if i have programmed the smoke machines (dmx channel 89) to desk channel 48, I would need the desk in wide mode - correct? Quote
K-Nine Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 We must be thinking along the same lines ... see my edited post above  Quote K-Nine : Technically Advanced Roving Dog In Space Bran Media | Myspace
coombesy85 Posted February 3, 2004 Author Report Posted February 3, 2004 ah ha - problem may be solved! i'll keep you posted! Cheers for your help! Quote
coombesy85 Posted February 3, 2004 Author Report Posted February 3, 2004 ok tried in wide mode but still no luck, it just stays on constant with the DMX plugged in :-( Maybe my dip settings are wrong for DMX patch 89? Confused. :? Quote
GLX Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 Sounds like you dont have a dmx smoker, is there a blinking led on the rear of the unit?(DMX) Quote
K-Nine Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 Try checking the Preset Control button, the associated LEDs and the position of the A Master and B Master faders. In Wide mode, there are two 'scenes' - one defined by the preset faders and the other stored scene. The outputs of the two 'scenes' are controlled by the A and B master faders and the Preset Control button determines which fader controls which scene.
