Sirius 24 DMX standard or retrofit ?

Hi all ,

 

I recently got a Sirius 24 ( + a second one for spares ) .

As far as I can see , there should be dmx inside . I was wondering if this has been fitted standard or not .

Serial n° are : 0048000 96440026 and

0048000 96440005

Based on your serial numbers, yes they should have been fitted with DMX cards as standard at time of manufacture.

If I remeber correctly we started fitting them at the end of 1995.

Another question came to mind . Can I use the DMX and 0-10v output at the same time ? Meaning , 0-10v for my dimpacks the are analog , and DMX for scannners , movingheads , strobes , ......

Yes the desk outputs on both the analogue and DMX at the same time.

From experience controlling moving heads can be awkward on the Sirius as you have to identify which fader is controlling which attribute.

It is ok for fixtures with a small number of channels, I found around 8 channels or less are ok, anything higher becomes difficult plus you then start to take away from the number of normal dimmer channels that you can control.
