on the zero 88 bullfrog, i was trying to get 2 moving lights working (i think their called something like showcase 250?) and the first one is on dmx channel 41 and the second on 25. the one on 25 works fine but the one on 41 only works when I use the faders for the generic lights, it wont respond at all to the wheels or the fixture settings. i have tried deleting them and re-asigning them but to no avail.

Can anyone help me with this please, there is a show next week i need them for and at the moment i dont have enogh hands to program and controll both of them.

thanks in advance

Hi there

Can you check whether the DMX is assigned correctly to the fixtures.

To do this, go into Super User (+ and - and ENTER)

Use the arrow keys to scroll to Desk Setup and push ENTER

Use the arrow keys to scroll to Patch Functions and push ENTER

Use the arrow keys to select Manual Patch and push ENTER

Push fixture button 1 - check it is assigned correctly to DMX 25

Push fixture button 2 - check it is assigned correctly to DMX 41

If either of these are wrong, use the + and - keys to set them correctly.

If they will not set to the number you require (the desk will 'skip' over this number) then this means that the DMX addresses are assigned elsewhere. Find the channel or fixture they are assigned to, and push CLEAR to clear the assignment from the previous location, before re-assigning them to the fixture you require.

I hope this helps - please let us know how you get on.

fixture 1 is correctly assigned both on light and desk as dmx 41 and fixture 2 is assigned correctly as dmx 25, i have cleared them and re-asigned them and still fixture 1 refuses to work with the wheels, it works by using the faders for generic lights. i am using zero 88 betapack 2 dimmers for the generics and have had to shift the dmx addresses of the dimmers up 100 because evry time i moved channel 1 up, that controlled the brightness of fixture 1.

now the generics start at dmx 101, but for some reason the fixture still operates by using the faders which is really annoying. if it helps the bullfrog desk is running the 2005 (dont ask which version - i havnt got a clue) firmware on.

I am a year 10 schoolboy who does the lights for nearly every event and I got an old mate (the guy who did it before me) round to check it and he was just as confused as i was. this guy is no simpleton eiher because he works freelance for about 5 theaters and is considered one of the best in the area.

if anyone knows why the lights and/or bullfrog desk is doing this, i would be very gratefull for any knowledge of how to fix it

thanks in advance

Instead of having the generics at 101, and the fixtures down at 25 etc, try resetting the desk, and having the fixtures addressed to the higher figures instead.

The desk will default the faders to a 1:1 patch, so they will use up DMX channels 1 - 96. Try addressing your fixtures to 100 and 150, and re-assigning and patching them into the console.
