alg
We are in the process of buying a Jester 24/48 to replace our somewhat ancient Sirius desk. To get some early hands on I have been trying the Phantom Jester and have noticed that each channel flash button has an associated LED that does not seem to be mentioned in the handbook, what is its purpose, what does it is signify? I have also noticed that if recording scenes in programme and you need to look back at an earlier scene to check a detail and then scroll back to the next free memory, in would appear that the last recorded scene i.e. memory N-1 is present in that memory with the associated flash button LEDs flashing, these channels cannot be removed using the clear button and have to be removed one channel at a time by grabbing and returning to zero to get back to a blank memory in which a new scene could be recorded. Is this correct and how the "real" desk behaves or is it some anomoly of the Phantom Jester? Has anybody else seen this or is this just novice teething problems as it seems a rather odd design feature if it is by design.
Jon Hole
Hi ALG, The LED signifies different things in different modes. For example, when editing - a flashing LED tells you that channel is at a figure that does not match the fader. In Run, the LED tells you there is something programmed on the associated submaster fader. On a Jester, in Program mode, when you scroll up and down the cue list the desk outputs each cue in turn. When you then go to an programmed cue, it continuous to output the previously selected cue. I hope this helps Quote Jon Hole Global Product Manager, Systems and Control
Frans
Hi ALG, This is indeed an annoying habit of the Jester. When you scroll through the memories they will be output on stage immediately. If you then go to a unprogrammed memory it keeps the last passed programmed memory on the output. When you connect an USB keybord to the Jester you can work around this. Create one memory with all channels on zero, for instance memory 1. Then on the keyboard press 1 and enter. All channels are off now. Then type the unprogrammed memory you want to program and press enter again. @ Zero Admin group It would have been better when you need to press enter to output a selected memory on stage when scrolling to the list. Maybe a good idea for a next version release if there will be any. Regards, Frans
