carlsson
Hi to all, we are using a JesterML 24 since about a year in a popular club to control conventional light and RGB-LEDS. Since we upgraded it from FW2.3 to FW2.5 we get the message "warning:out of memory" by trying to store a new submaster. We are currently storing everything to submasters due to the "ad-hoc" character of the club, the most frequent used buttons are the flash buttons . Currently we have 2 Banks with 12 submasters programmed, this should not reach the desks capacities. We are now thinking about a factory reset, which would require a complete new setup and submaster programming. The question is: Is there a more elegant way to resolve this ? Btw: we realized a really large fixture library had been put into the desk after the upgrade. We use a few "self-made" fixtures in our setup, because we did not find suitable ones in the library. Is there anyway to delete these unused fixtures to free up space ? Greets from munich
Laubfrosch
Hi Carlsson, I noticed the same problem after updating the OS. Did you powercycle the desk? Probably a workaround. Before you reset the Desk. Store your current show on a USB Stick. Than reset the desk and load the show again. Worked fine on the desk I worked with. Rel. 2.5 Cheers Sven Quote Sven Paulsen Klangfarbe Vienna
Kirkup_xp
Unfortunately this is a bug in versions 2.4 and 2.5 (reference JES-2964), that they do not properly convert showfiles created in earlier versions, resulting in the 'out of memory' error you have seen why trying to program new submasters. To work around this, you will need to perform a Reset Desk in Setup. Once you have reset the desk, the software should behave normally. This problem will be corrected in the next version, allowing you to load older showfiles properly from a USB stick. As for the fixture library, the library is stored on a separate memory chip inside the desk - deleting unused fixtures won't do anything of benefit on the desk. I hope this helps, Peter Quote Peter Kirkup
carlsson
Thanks for the quick answers, we are going to check this evening, I'll follow up on it. Powercycling the desk is not resolving this issue, it would be good idea to include the reset procedure into the upgrade instructions for 2.5 (if not already happened). carlsson
Hi to all again, The Problem is fixed now. All submasters can be programmed as usual. One additional hint: on reloading the former show you will have this effect back, so you won't be able to add additional submasters to it. This happens to my assumption due to the new showfile format,so we programmed a new Show. Kind regards Carlsson
