smythy75 Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 hey, im looking to add some LED par cans to my rig and i was wondering if the jester ml 24 can run these ok? and how i go about doing it? Thanks! Peter! Quote
King Tuts Engineer Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Yes the jester will run these, though the problem is that led par cans use usually at least 3 dmx channels. We have led cans that are 4 channels per can so for 8 front cans and 8 back cans this ends up being alot of channels. The jester only has 24 channe;s on 2 layers or 48 if you have the bigger version. You could make up your own fixture file for them, and control them via fixtures., then use that to set them up and store in subgroups. Quote
smythy75 Posted October 28, 2008 Author Report Posted October 28, 2008 Thanks for replying!! How do I go about creating a fixture file? Is this hard to do? Peter Quote
NZ Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 There are generic RGB fixtures in the library already. You could use one of these on a fixture button or for some manufacturers there are specific ones. Which fixtures do you have? Quote Graham
smythy75 Posted October 30, 2008 Author Report Posted October 30, 2008 i dont have any led par cans yet, i just wanted to be sure i could use them on the jester before i got them, glad i can use them as fixtures! that will suit me fine, ill take a look in the fixture library and see what led fixtures are supported! King Tuts Engineer Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 You can create your own fixture file using zero 88 fixtures tools. Its on the cd that came with the desk or you can download it from the website. You can use a generic fixture already in the desk aswell. The desk now supports virtual intensity, meaning that a fixture that only has rgb chanels can have a virtual channel that scales these 3 channels to give you an intensity channel Quote
turquoise_and_blue Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 hi K T E, when you say you can add a "virtual channel" for LEDs... would this eliminate the inability to have LED cans fade in and out of programmed states? if so could you point me towards more info on setting this up. thanks.
