ptheboris Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Strange case. Person I had lent the Fat Frog to yesterday phoned this morning to say that all the cues she programmed yesterday are not there when the desk was turned on this morning. The show was not saved to disk. Anyone got any ideas on this? Paul Quote
Paul Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 This could be due to a flat battery in the desk, or it could just be other people meddling with the desk while she was away from it. You can protect against a potential battery problem by going into Super User and changing something (like desk defaults or remote switch setup for example) that will force the desk to update the showfile in FLASH with the latest changes from the battery-backed RAM. Then if the battery is failing, you won't lose the latest changes to the show when you switch off the desk. It's also worth saving your show to floppy regularly if you've invested a lot of programming time in it, in case the worst happens. And lock the desk while you're away from it, to protect against other meddlers... Quote
ptheboris Posted July 25, 2008 Author Report Posted July 25, 2008 Thanks folks. Think it is most likely to be the battery as this happened overnight. She did it yesterday, switched off and this morning it was not there. Nobody else has been in the building. Paul Quote
