jon longname Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 It would be nice to be able to replay presets over time (e.g. like on Avolites desks), maybe using the Transfer With Time button. Being able to jump numbers higher or change from DMX stream A to B while patching by double clicking the +/- button (e.g. like on Jands Events) would be handy. Using maybe Shift and Home to trigger a reset on selected fixtures could make life easier. Quote
Paul Posted May 27, 2002 Report Posted May 27, 2002 If you store channel data directly on to a submaster, you can't have fade times associated with it. However if you store the channel data as a memory and then transfer it (with time) to a submaster you can have fade times associated with it. You can swap between DMX universe A & B by pressing the EDIT button when patching. The trouble with resetting fixtures is, there's no standard way of doing it. Every type of fixture has a different set of rules as to what you have to send on what control channels in what order. Quote

If not, could it be written in? I too would find that feature very useful. Quote Peter Kirkup
K-Nine Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 There is no reset information stored in the fixture personality data for the Frog series desks; they only define the fixture parameters (brightness, colour, gobo, pan, tilt etc.), which channel they are on and their default value (ie the value sent out by the desk when you 'home' the fixture). If it was simply a case of sending out a specific DMX value on a particular channel to reset a fixture, then this could be implemented relatively easily. However as Paul stated earlier every manufacturer has a different way of 'resetting' their fixtures and many involve setting various channels at different levels and/or holding levels for a period of time etc. This subject has cropped up on numerous occasions in the past but as yet we have no simple solution to the problem Cheers, K-Nine.
