In the begining we use a DMX consoles to conventional light, after, with the introducing of new technologys we need a more powerfull console to control a moving heads. The option was the mambo frog, with 96 fixtures, but now the mambo frog is out and we want find a replace to it. I suppose the leap frog is the best replace, but i want be sure, can you guide me in this ?
Kirkup_xp
If you want a moving lights only desk, a good route to go down would be the Leap Frog 48 or the Frog 2. Both of these are capable of outputting 4 universes of DMX (the Frog 2 has 4 physical 5pin outputs, the Leap Frog has only 2, but can output 4 over ethernet.) The Leap Frog can patch upto 200 fixtures and works in a very similar way to the mambo frog. The Frog 2 is a command line based desk, which can sometimes be quicker for programming large numbers of moving lights as you talk about. Where are you based? Perhaps it would be good to get a demo of both desks and then you can decide which is best for yourself. Quote Peter Kirkup
