just upgraded to 4 and UDF dont work or UDK on certian fixtures.....i.e. i raise the fader and nothing...ahhhh

1) Did you do the full CD update to 4.2.0, including the Co. Processor and LCD updates?

 

2) Do you have a show file with these problem UDFs and UDKs? If you view them (VIEW <UDF/K>) is the channel data there?

 

3) Are you recording with Smart Tag enabled or disabled?

After talking to Kevin during the weekend, it appears that this problem is related to the use of Smart Tags.

 

With Smart Tags enabled, the desk will record the *changes* required to get to the current values - in a cue stack scenario, this works brilliantly. When programming a Sub, Smart Tags should record all non-default values - I think the problem is occuring because internally the default value for intensity is full (255 or 65535) rather than 0, so the desk is seeing a 100% as a default value and therefore not storing it onto the UDF/UDK. Setting the channel to 99% works, because this is a non-default value.
