We have 4 Source 4 Jnr Zooms and 4 fresnels running at the moment and I am being asked if we purchased MV250h Wash Moving Head units, would we be able to run them from this board. Being used to running these kind of units as standalones, I don't want to give wrong advice when rigged up to our setup.

The info I have on the units are:

# DMX 512 channels: 7

# Setting and adressing: 4 digit LED display

# Data in-out 3 pin XLR

# PAN 540°, Tilt 270°

# Colour wheel: 11 trapezoiddichroic color plus white

# Rainbow effect in both directions

# Shutter: Variable speed

# Strobe: 1 - 10 flashes per second

# Power supply: 230V 50Hz

# Lamp: ELC 24V 250W

Any advice would be very greatfully received.

Thanks.

It is possible to control the fixture from the desk but control would be difficult and require a little thought when operating.

Also due to the number of channel it uses you would only be able to control one fixture fully, unless you used the same start address for them all.

To do this you would have to operate the desk in wide mode so you would loose the two preset option. The fixture should then be set to start address 13, and the first 7 faders on the B preset would be used to control the functions.

You would then need to figure out which fader had which function.
