littledesigner
Hi everyone!!! I have a (I think that must be a bug) bug report about Leap Frog. I´m working at this time in a rental company that has just bought a Leap Frog and we´re having some problems with mobile heads programming and playing. The worst problem that weÂve found is that the desk is unable to play more than one submaster at the same time. When you are playing one and start to play another, the chase or scene suddenly switch to the new submaster program. We have wash and spot heads, and I usually use a submaster for wash lights and another for spots, and then I play them at the same time, but now I can´t do It. Is the first time that It happens to me. I don´t know any other desk for intelligent fixture programming that have this problem. I hope that this problem can be solved with a software patch or a firmware upgrading. Can anyone help me, please? Thanks!!
K-Nine
Hi there, It's not a problem with the desk, it's simply the mode it is set to operate in. Your desk is currently in 'Full' mode, which records everything on the outputs when you hit the program button. To allow programming of different fixtures onto different submasters, you need to set the desk to 'Partial' - this can be found in the desk setup menu. (programming mode) Quote K-Nine : Technically Advanced Roving Dog In Space Bran Media | Myspace

littledesigner
Unfortunately I´ve tested programming in partial and full mode and it doesn´t works. At programming I can store shapes, colours , positions and scenes without problems, but at the time of playing back what I´ve programmed before, I can´t mix two submasters. When I launch one chase in a submaster and then launch the second (whith other fixtures) the chase of the other submaster stops, and only the last active submaster is active. I´ve contacted spanish Zero 88 distributor and they said to me tha it was very unusual because fatfrog (little brother of Leap) can make this like all the rest of desks. I hope you can understand and help me. Thanks !
K-Nine
Do you have the latest version of software in your desk (Version 8.1) ? With the latest software it is possible to program partial memory and submaster data down to attribute level (eg the colour parameters of fixtures 1 - 4, the positions of fixtures 5 - 8 etc.) Providing that there is no overlap between fixtures programmed on different submasters, then it should be possible to playback several submasters at a time independently without them affecting each other. littledesigner
Dear K-Nine: Excuse me, but I can´t understand you very well. We have 8.1 version installed in our desk, and we aren´t able to launch two submasters at the same time, each one controlling different fixtures. For example, we have 4 spots with the same movement path and different colours in one submaster and in the other we have 4 wash with other parameters. We store the chases in different submasters , because if we want to make a different chase for one group of fixtures without affecting the other, we can do it. The problem is at the time to launch the submasters. When we launch the first chase it runs well, but when we launch the second chase (the chase that drives the other fixtures) the first chase stops, and we can´t use it at the same time. I hope you can understand me , and if the solution to this problem was the response you gave me in your last reply , please explain me in other words , easier to understand for non experienced users of frog consoles, like me. Thanks you very much.
Laubfrosch
Hi Littledesigner, You have to watch the program mode. Have you tagged the fixtures, you want to program to the choosen subs? And another thing could be, the Submasterbuttons are set to Solo.... Best regards Sven Quote Sven Paulsen Klangfarbe Vienna
littledesigner
Hi Laubfrosch. We have switched between partial and full mode, and the problem hasn´t been solved. About solo mode in submaster section, I´m not sure, but the desk allow us to mix submasters of par cans (scenes of generic dimmer channels ). The problem is with heads. We have assigned channels and our distributor gave us a library file of those heads (terbly flash 5751 and 5752). At startup, everything seems to be ok, the fixtures are assigned to their selection buttons, and there isn´t any overlap between head´s channels. We´ve called other rental companies who have leap frog, and they´ve told us that with Leap frog you can only mix at the same time one submaster of dimmers, other of scrollers and another of heads. I think it must be a mistake of users, but guys of one rental company who owns some zero88 material, told us that there isn´t any way to solve it. Thanks you very much. K-Nine
You should be able to have different chases with different fixtures running from submasters at the same time on a Leap Frog. There are a few points to remember. In Desk Setup - The Program Mode must be set to Partial before programming any of the chases. In Desk Setup - Desk defaults, Sub Data should be set to Generics + Fixtures. In Desk Setup - Desk defaults, LTP Trigger should be On. When you program the chases only those fixtures which you want in the chase must be tagged ie, the yellow LED in fixture selection button is FLASHING. All other fixtures must be untagged (yellow LED in fixture selection button is ON). Note that the brightness parameters of fixtures are always recorded regardless of the tagged state, so any fixtures that you don't want to see in the chase should have their brightness set to zero. littledesigner
THANKS EVERYONEEEEEE!!!! I´ve solved my problem. The problem was with programming mode. When we changed the full mode to partial, it didn´t come true until we turn off and then turn on the desk. It needs to restart the system to change the programming mode. We´ve called the other rental companies to say them your solution, and from they and of course from me THANKS YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!
